A Reception for Rev. Marla Brown
A Reception on Sunday, June 1st from 3-5 PM at Church of the Cross, 1750 Eastgate Rd. Toledo. Rev. Marla Brown has faithfully served the Maumee Watershed District as its Superintendent for six years. We have come to know her as Spiritual leader, disciple, and friend. Marla has made a tremendous impact on our lives, churches, District, and the Kingdom of God. Marla will be retiring this June at Annual Conference. We hope you will all come to this informal gathering and share in the opportunity to bring Marla a card and wish her a wonderful journey with Christ into her retirement journey. |
Thank You from the Maumee Watershed
District United Methodist Men We want to thank everyone who responded to the mailing for the Truck Fund.
It was good to see the support we have from those of you who want us to continue feeding the hungry.
Please remember this is an ongoing ministry. We are willing to receive your donations at anytime throughout the year. Just as a reminder the donations may be sent to UMM President/Treasurer Eulan Tucker, 3322 Stafford Drive, Oregon OH 43616. Thanks Again and my God Bless You All! |
"Imagine No Malaria" Benefit Concert June 7 The United Methodist Church's "Imagine No Malaria" campaign is putting faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria. Since the campaign began in 2010, the number of malaria deaths in Africa has been cut in half. But malaria still kills 700,000 people every year - more than one each minute. Locally, Hope United Methodist Church, Toledo is supporting Imagine No Malaria with a benefit concert on Saturday, June 7, from noon to 2:30, on its front lawn at 4069 West Sylvania Avenue (across from Franklin Park Mall). The church's praise band will play original and inspirational songs as well as old favorites. Food will be available. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged to support Imagine No Malaria's prevention, treatment, and education activities. Everyone is invited to stop by Hope United Methodist Church any time between noon and 2:30 on June 7 and support this worthy cause. |
Meet Karen Vo TO and Ut To as they visit in the West Ohio Conference
Karen and Ut serve as missionaries in Vietnam, planting new churches and working with government leaders and the General Board of Global Ministries to have the United Methodist Church in Vietnam recognized and registered, moving it from the underground into the open. Their work has resulted in the establishment of 162 new house churches. Karen's work focuses on recruiting women to study for pastoral ministry. Ut trains Christian leaders in developing new congregations and nurturing Christians in the region.
