Infor held its TUG SIG Users Group Summit in Orlando, Florida from October 2-5th. This was a gathering of users throughout the US and there was over 100 attendees. The Executive Committee had a general session and then breakouts for the A+ and SXe users. There were over 120 software enhancements to A+ since the last summit. The Executive committee shared that it was an ongoing process and continue to work on enhancing the software over time.
Infor Executives discussed the enhancements to CRM, Storefront, Radio Frequency, and Max Recall as well as other modules. IBM Senior Management was on hand to discuss the Infor/IBM relationship and its future.
Exhibitors showed their solutions and how well they integrated to the Infor product set, Warehousing, Document Management, Business Intelligence, Voice Recognition, and the Paperless Office to name a few. Demos were performed and vendors showed their integration to the A+ database.
Infor announced that the new version of Distribution A+ 8.03.02 will be available November 2,2012. It includes the following enhancements.
1. Promotional Pricing Enhancements - Promotional Pricing was released in Version 8.00.00 of A+, offering the capability to provide pricing methodologies such as Buy One-Get One Free. Buy some of these and pick from some of these for free.
To extend the functionality of Promotional Pricing, the following additional enhancements have been made:
- Auto Select Promotions for Best Deal
- Discount for Get Items
- Max Get
- Exclude Drop Shipments
- Action authority
- OE History Purge
- Offline and POS
2. Default Warehouse Location with Return Code (NAPCG #1377)
When inventory is being returned in Enter, Change, & Ship Orders, a default return location will now be assigned to the returning inventory base on the Return Code assigned to the order or line item.
3. Scheduled Rebuilds of Searches (NAPCG #1379)
Instead of manually taking the menu option to rebuild customer and item searches, a menu option has been added to the Cross Applications Menu to allow for the scheduling of these rebuilds.
4. BOM Kit Roll Up Pricing
When a Kit type Bill of Materials is created, users now have the option of rolling up the customer specific pricing of each component to the Kit and updating the final price with the calculated amount. This allows for more accurate pricing of Kits, especially when the Kit is being customized through the order entry process. An override final price may still be associated with Kits as previously existed.
5. Combine Lot and Serial Receipt and Shipment History (NAPCG # 1053)
For improved visibility and tracking of the transactions associated with a particular Lot or Serial Number, this enhancement allows for an inquiry which displays all of the transaction history for a Lot or Serial Number in a chronological listing.
6. Miscellaneous Receipt Comments to IA Miscellaneous Receipt Entry
To enhance communication among the organization, and improve tracking Miscellaneous Receipt Comments will now be visible in the item inquiry Transaction History. These comments are not associated with a specific purchase order and are generally entered using Iinventory Accounting Enter/Update Transactions.
7. Coming Soon: Inventory Control Center Phase I (Buyers Workbench)
* This enhancement will be released subsequent to 08.03.01, but be compatible with the 8.03.01 release of A+.
The inventory Control Center is an additional module that will be released subsequent to the 8.03.01 release. The Inventory Control Center will serve as a single user interface for the buyer to make faster, more informed buying decisions and to manage exceptions and changing trends. The initial release of the Inventory Control Center is the Buyer's Workbench which is a prioritized and summarized view of the system Suggested Orders. Developed in the new Infor WebUI technology, this application provides the ability to customize the view of the screen on a user by user basis to group and sort the information provided. The Buyer's Workbench will minimize the time that buyers need to spend analyzing suggested orders allowing buyers to focus on more critical tasks. Stay tuned for additional information about this exciting new product.
