What?
Manufacturing Impacts Through Energy and Commerce (MITEC) Bootcamp

Mission & Objectives for Event: MITEC is an official collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Department of Commerce that aims to strengthen U.S. manufacturing to foster innovation, boost the economy, and create a cleaner and more prosperous future.
 
The goal of this DOE-sponsored Bootcamp is to enable local advanced energy manufacturers to become aware of and tap into the vast resources of the national labs so they can boost their manufacturing competitiveness and grow their businesses. Key lab personnel will share advanced energy manufacturing innovation capabilities available through partnerships with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Jefferson Lab.

Target Attendees - Sector - Level

The audience will include small- and medium-sized manufacturers of clean energy and advanced manufacturing technologies. Some firms are in the design and prototyping phase, while others are suppliers in the clean energy supply chain. Representatives from GENEDGE will be there, as well as other Virginia stakeholders and allies.

Panel: How to work with the labs--experts and success stories
Panel:  Other local federal labs-- what they have to offer businesses and how to work with them 
Panel: Local resources--GENEDGE, SBDC, etc-- that can help local manufacturers
 
Value Proposition for Attendees 
We would like the audience to walk away learning: 1) The basics of what the labs (or other organizations, like GENEDGE and SBDC) have to offer such as facilities, capabilities, etc., and 2) How to work with these organizations to improve their product or process.
