For all our lives the powers that be have been telling us to be healthy. "Follow these "keys" and you'll attain and maintain better health", they told us. As someone who has studied health for almost four decade, I am here to tell you that for all of our lives, we have constantly been given the WRONG KEYS! And as a result, many people have suffered greatly because of it. Let me give you just a few examples of these "wrong" keys: 1. Fallacy: We are taught over and over that  germs cause disease. "Germs are dirty...germs are bad!"
Fact: Throughout most of his life, 19th century chemist, Louis Pasteur insisted that germs were the cause of disease, not the body. It wasn't until Pasteur was nearing the end of his life that he came to the realization that he was wrong and the truth was just the opposite. Near the end of his life he proclaimed, "It is the soil, not the seed." In other words, a germ (the seed) only causes disease when our body (the soil) provides a hospitable environment.

In other words, if germs caused disease, we'd all be dead. For instance, there are up to one billion germs on just one of your teeth (depending on if you brushed this morning)! The rest of your body houses up to 100 trillion germs. In other words, there are at least as many germs in your body as there are cells! In fact, we couldn't live without germs. They have a very specific job to do in order for us to stay healthy! The truth is, it's not the germ that causes the disease, it's the body's resistance to the germ that determines our health and that is determined by your the strength of your immune system. Here's a perfect example: You are standing, talking with two other people and the one person with a cold sneezes on you and your friend. One week later, your friend now has a cold but you don't. Why? You both inhaled the same germs. Fortunately for you, your immune system was strong and took care of the foreign invaders before damage could be done. Your friend was not so lucky. The germ was present in both instances but your body did its job! 2. Fallacy: Take these drugs and you'll get  healthy.
Fact: If drugs made us healthy, we'd be the healthiest country in the world. The United States makes up only 4.6 percent of the world's population, but consumes 80 percent of its opioids. According to the WHO, the U.S. ranks 34th in health. Drugs do NOT make you healthy. 3. Fallacy: If you feel good, you're healthy. Fact: Everyone of us knows someone that felt great one minute and dropped over dead the next with a heart attack. Now this heart didn't go from 100% healthy to 100% dead in a second! In fact, in almost 50% of first heart attacks, the first symptom is death. People don't wake up one day with cancer. My beautiful, vibrant and healthy looking sister went to the doctor for a well person check up and walked out with breast cancer. The truth is the cancer had been there a while, she just didn't know it because she had no symptoms. The fact is you can have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, AIDS and countless other problems, yet not feel the first symptom. In fact, by the time you have the symptoms of a major disease, it's many times too late.
These are just a few of the fallacies that are perpetuated every day in our society by people who don't want us to be well and want us on their drugs (in other words, follow the money). And because these fallacies have been told over and over, they have grown into false truths.
So if these aren't the keys to health, what are the real keys??? I'm glad you asked! The number one factor in continued health is a strong immune system, run  and regulated by your brain, sending messages to the body hundreds of trillions of times per second over your 100% functioning nerve system in order to constantly heal you and keep you healthy. When there's an interference in this brain-body communication, the messages can't get through and the body simply can't function the way it was meant. The bottom line...your health STARTS with a healthy nerve system! And that's what chiropractic does. Stay regular with your adjustments and allow your body to work at its full potential.
