Gross Catholic High School
Greetings! Dear (Contact First Name),

"Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Matthew 25:21

It would be impossible to thank, individually, all those involved in the recent success of Celebration 29 and Brother Joe Barrett's 70th Jubilee. Words alone fall short of expressing our gratitude. Never before has such a large group of volunteers given of their time, talents, and treasure to support such an effort and to support this community. It is times like these that remind us just how blessed we are to be a part of Gross Catholic --- to be a part of this family.

Celebration 29 welcomed home 440 members of our community. Many alums, past parents, current parents, community supporters, faculty and staff enjoyed a wonderful evening, the proceeds of which support our financial assistance program. The atmosphere was especially joyous with our beloved Brother Joe Barrett serving as Honorary Chair. We are so grateful to all of the alumni who were a part of the "Dream Team" that made the evening a night to remember.

The celebration of Brother Joe's 70th Jubilee as a vowed Marianist on Sunday, April 28th was such a special time for all. The liturgy, celebrated by Gross Catholic alum Fr. Mike Eckley, was so very meaningful. The Open House that followed demonstrated an outpouring of love and support for Brother Joe as so many came to visit him. He, of course, remembers everyone and had countless stories to tell.

Yes, both of these events were quite special. As always, we came together as family. As always, we cherish our past, celebrate our present, and look forward to the promise of our future. We know that Gross Catholic was built on faith and hope. It is our faith and hope that will carry us into the future --- a future that will find us strong. Yes, we are Gross Catholic and we are blessed.

May God continue to bless each and every one of you.

May is a very busy time for our students and their families. There are plans for end of the school year activities and registering for next school year. Incoming freshman have registered and are getting ready to leave the familiar setting of grade school and move to high school. Current freshman, sophomores, and juniors have picked their classes for next year and are preparing for final exams to finish out this year. Current seniors have a few days left at school, baccalaureate mass, and graduation then it is off to their next stage of life. These days are filled with excitement.

On Tuesday, April 30, Gross Catholic celebrated the achievements of our students. We gave accolades to those students who work hard every day to strive for excellence. This is especially true of our senior class who has worked so hard for the four years of high school to achieve the goal of graduating from a prestigious, Catholic, college preparatory institution. I have been blessed that my first year as Principal of Gross Catholic was this class of 2013's senior year. They have shown great leadership, character, and ability. They have shared the gifts they have been given with all of us at Gross Catholic. I am so proud of this group and the legacy they leave at Gross. The legacy of faith filled young people who care deeply about each other, and their school. I would like to say thank you class of 2013 and congratulations on all of your achievements.

Sincerely,

John Schultz

Omaha Gives!
Give to Gross Catholic

Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School has an amazing opportunity to be part of a city wide philanthropic effort call Omaha Gives!

What is Omaha Gives! Omaha Gives! is a new 24-hour, online giving event organized by the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in the Omaha area (Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties). The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum. Matching funds and prize money will be made available to amplify charitable donations. The goal is to inspire the community to come together for 24 hours to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of local nonprofit organizations. Omaha Gives! is based on other successful giving days hosted by community foundations across the country.

How you can help? We are asking that everyone forward this giving opportunity to ten of your e-mail contacts. Please help us spread the word to friends, family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, god parents, etc. The more buzz we create for Omaha Gives! the more money we raise for Gross Catholic. Money raised will go to support our financial aid program to help make a premier Catholic education available to those in need. Direct them to omahagives24.org to make their donation on Wednesday, May 22! You can also help us spread the word via Facebook and Twitter so watch for opportunities to share this on social media.

When will Omaha Gives! day take place?

Omaha Gives! is a 24-hour giving event on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from midnight to midnight. All event-related donations must be made at omahagives24.org during that 24-hour period.

All gifts are tax deductible and 94% of the proceeds return to Gross Catholic (Online and credit card processing fees apply). You will immediately receive an email confirming your donation. The Omaha Community Foundation will not receive any of the funds or processing fees. All funds designated to Daniel J. Gross Catholic High School will be given to the school.
