Greetings!
"When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy; and going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him." - Matthew 2: 10-11 It's so hard to believe that the holidays are upon us and the New Year is right around the corner. But what a joyous time of year! The holidays certainly allow us the opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Savior, and also provide us with the wonderful opportunity to gather with family and friends and to give thanks for all the gifts we have received. Here at Gross Catholic we are blessed in so many ways and we have so many things for which to be thankful. Our students, our families and our community continually surround us with love and support. Our benefactors continue to generously support our mission. And the future of Gross Catholic continues to shine bright, much like the star that helped to navigate the wise men on their journey. We will plan for that future as we make our way into the New Year and we, very much, look forward to the promise that tomorrow brings. Wishing all of you a blessed and joyous Christmas season. Dr. Dorothy Ostrowski President |
Marianist Prayer for Advent Mary, inspired by your readiness to accept all that God would work in you, we offer you our hearts and lives so that we too might bring forth into our world Jesus, the Savior. May we be humble and compassionate and come to say as you did, "Behold the servant of the Lord." Amen I start with the Marianist prayer for Advent as we look forward to the coming of our savior with great anticipation. Anticipation and readiness to accept all that God has to work in me has been the theme of my first year at Gross Catholic. Every event and every situation at Gross Catholic has been new and exciting for me. Although I come with experience in schools and curriculum, I have never been in a Catholic High School or a school like Gross Catholic that has so much to offer. I have felt so welcomed by the Gross Catholic Community and have a great appreciation for all the members of our community. I also feel humbled by the calling to be the Principal of Gross Catholic High School. What a privilege to be chosen to be a leader in such a great Catholic institution. The opportunity to help young people mature and grow into young men and women is such a privilege. I am reminded every day how special it is to be an educator and how wonderful it is to be a Catholic Educator. Have a happy and joyous advent and Christmas season. Sincerely, John Schultz, Principal
