Greetings!
"It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into
the doing and sharing with others that is important."
(Mother Teresa, A Simple Path)
As we enter into this month of Thanksgiving, we at Gross Catholic wish to express our gratitude to all those who have loved us and have shown their love for our students and our school by sharing their gifts of time, talents, treasure, and especially, prayer. It is your gifts that sustain the fulfillment of our mission, and it is your gifts that allow us to move forward and to plan for the future. No matter the extent of your support, we are so grateful for your commitment to Catholic education, your willingness to help us and your love for your Cougar family.
Soon you will receive our Annual Fund Appeal asking that you help support our mission through a financial contribution. It is our hope that you will prayerfully consider such a gift with our promise that we will be good stewards of your support. Your contribution will allow us to continue serving our current students with outstanding programs in a faith-filled environment. The Annual Fund also allows us to help those in need who so want to provide their children with a Catholic education here at Gross Catholic.
We are so appreciative of those who have contributed in the past and pray for your continued support. We encourage all to participate in this effort and to remember us in prayer. May God grant you and your families continued blessings.
With wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving,
Dr. Dorothy A. Ostrowski President |

November is a time to thank God for our many blessings. The blessings of Gross Catholic High School and the community that has given so much to make this a great place to learn. As I reflect on my first 3 months at Gross Catholic, I am amazed by the welcoming atmosphere that I have experienced. I am so thankful for the community that has helped to make my move this year a smooth transition.
I am also thankful for the staff who work so hard to provide an education in the Catholic tradition to all of our students. I am thankful for all those who are a part of Gross Catholic, but will focus on our teachers.
The teachers at Gross Catholic work hard to try and give each student the best possible Catholic education. They have been implementing in their curricular areas the teaching strategies that we have been working on in our faculty meetings. We have been discussing the use of objectives to guide instruction and the use of note taking strategies. I have been able to visit several classrooms and have been pleased to see the professional educators using these strategies with students. I am very thankful for the gifted teachers we have at Gross Catholic. These professionals are always striving to become better educators to provide the best possible learning environment in their classrooms.
I will close with Psalm:128 1-3 for my verse for Thanksgiving.
"I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; in the presence of the angels to you I sing. I bow low toward your holy temple; I praise your name for your mercy and faithfulness. For you have exalted over all your name and your promise. On the day I cried out, you answered; you strengthened my spirit."
Have a blessed Thanksgiving season.
Sincerely,
John Schultz Principal

I am thrilled to be back in Catholic secondary education and a part of the Cougar Family! I am excited for the future and I look forward to an amazing year. My responsibilities here at Gross Catholic include major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, capital campaigns, endowment, strategic planning and grant writing.
As the new Director of Development, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa but have lived in Omaha, Nebraska for seven years. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in textiles and apparel concentrating in marketing.
Prior to working for Gross Catholic, I worked for the Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council for 19 months as their fundraising executive and at Mercy High School for six years as a their advancement assistant and special events planner.
