Maine's Favorite Amusement Park opens for its
50th season on Saturday, May 7!
Saco, Maine - Funtown Splashtown USA is preparing for the 50th Opening Day of the Ride Park scheduled on Saturday, May 7 at 11:00am. The Water Park is scheduled to open for its 21st season on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00am. Funtown Splashtown USA is Northern New England's largest water and amusement park. We are a convenient trip from most locations in the Northeast, and home to:
- Excalibur, New England's largest wooden roller coaster;
- Thunder Falls, New England's longest and tallest log flume ride;
- Dragon's Descent, Northern New England's tallest vertical thrill ride;
- Mount Olympus Water Slides featuring launch capsule technology, the unique "Flatline Loop" and mat racing slides.
- Mammoth and Tornado family slides
- Pirate's Paradise, the interactive rain fortress for all ages

Happy Birthday Funtown!
"2016 is the 50th season of Funtown USA Ride Park, and we are pulling out all of the stops to make this a season to remember," said Ed Hodgdon, park Marketing Manager. "There will be special discounts and events to commemorate our golden season."
One of the park's original attractions, the Merry-Go-Round, which made its final rotations in 2011, is coming out of retirement. "We are so excited that this ride now has a home again in the park," said Cory Hutchinson, park general manager.

More Fun Photos!
New for this season, Excalibur and Thunder Falls are getting new photo systems. "The new technology is top-of-the-line for on-ride photography," said Hodgdon. Guests will be able to purchase photos or digital downloads of their ride experience.

More Days for honoring our Heroes!
This year, military and public safety/first responders will have even more days to visit with a special discount.
Public safety/first responders, which includes police, fire, and EMS professionals will be able to come to the park for FREE and their immediate family will be HALF PRICE on Saturday May 21, Sunday May 22, Saturday September 3, Sunday September 4, and Monday September 5.
Active, reserve and retired military will be able to come to the park for FREE and their immediate family will be HALF PRICE on Saturday May 28, Sunday May 29, Monday May 30, Saturday September 3, Sunday September 4, and Monday September 5.

Community Week - June 20 to June 24
For the third season, Community Week at Funtown Splashtown USA will be working with several non-profit organizations to raise needed funds. Starting on Monday June 20, the following organizations will be spotlighted:
Monday June 20 - Southern Maine Agency on Aging
Tuesday June 21 - Camp Champions
Wednesday June 22 - Animal Welfare Society
Thursday June 23 - Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine
Friday June 24 - Crossroads Maine
For each guest that purchases a bracelet, the park will donate $1.00 to that organization.

50th Season Fireworks Spectacular!
Each year, Funtown Splashtown USA has had its Independence Day fireworks show on July 3rd. This year, we are increasing the number of fireworks by 50%, bringing Southern Maine and even bigger and better show!

Autism Awareness Days
In 2015, Funtown Splashtown USA held its first Autism Awareness Day at the end of August. This event was a huge success, so two additional days are being added to the calendar. This year, there will be Autism Awareness Days on Monday, June 27; Monday, July 25; and Monday, August 22. On these days, there will be extra accommodations made in certain areas of the park.
"We are pleased that we can offer a different experience, while still maintaining the magic of being a guest at Funtown Splashtown USA," said Cory Hutchinson, park general manager. "We will be investing in additional training for all team members so that they are better prepared for working with our guests with autism, both on these special days and throughout the season.

Funtown Splashtown USA holds many special events throughout the summer including blood drives, Mother's Day weekend and Father's Day weekend celebrations, visits from Slugger, Salty Pete, and Crusher, and many special educational events.
