Saco, Maine - Starting on June 22, Funtown Splashtown USA will be doing more than providing a safe, fun, family-friendly atmosphere; it will be helping five organizations raise needed funds.

Funtown Splashtown USA holds its annual Community Week Monday June 22 through Friday June 26. Each day, one organization will be featured by the park. The organization will set up at the park, raising awareness to the thousands of guests who will visit the parks that week.

The park will also make a donation to each of the organizations. For every bracelet purchased, that day's featured organization will receive $1.00.

This year's organizations are:

• Monday June 22 - Grahamtastic Connection
  Providing high-tech equipment to seriously ill children so that they can continue to learn with their peers while out of school.
• Tuesday June 23 - Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston, MA
  Specializing in the treatment of severe burns and complex skin conditions.
• Wednesday June 24 - Animal Welfare Society
  Providing animal sheltering and adoption services to 21 neighboring communities in York County, Maine.
• Thursday June 25 - Maine Children's Cancer Program
  Providing comprehensive treatment for children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders in Maine and New Hampshire.
• Friday June 26 - STRIVE / PSL Services
  Serving tweens, teens and young adults with intellectual & emotional disabilities.

"Funtown Splashtown USA provides hundred of one-day tickets to non-profit organizations throughout the year, and this is an extension of that goodwill," said Ed Hodgdon, the park's Marketing Manager. "Our goal is to raise money and awareness for these worthy organizations that do so much of the communities they serve."

 

Both the Funtown USA Ride Park and the Splashtown USA Water Park are scheduled to be open from 10am to 6pm on June 22 through June 25. On Friday June 26, Funtown USA Ride Park is scheduled to be open from 10am to 8pm and the Splashtown USA Water Park is scheduled to be open from 10am to 6pm.
