Happy Independence Day!
Our founding fathers knew why civic literacy and leadership matters.
GenerationNation sends you best wishes for an enjoyable, memorable Fourth of July. It is a great time to gather with family and friends, enjoy fireworks and celebrate America's birthday.

The people who worked together so many years ago to form a new nation understood civic life.

The efforts of these individuals, and their impact, is profound. Did they automatically know what to do, who to talk to, or how to lead?

Probably not. We are not born with civic leadership, knowledge, or skill. We have to learn how our governments and communities work, and grow as confident citizens and leaders who can read and analyze information, communicate, think critically, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions.

As we honor our country and founding leaders, let's keep today's students firmly in mind. One day, they'll become the leaders of our schools, communities and nation. What, and how, children and youth learn now is critical.

GenerationNation builds civic literacy and leadership from an early age. Thanks to your involvement and support, together we are getting students ready to lead!
