Community Members Invest in 107 Programs and Services through United Way
Over $1.1 Million in Funding Announced
On behalf of the community,$994,675.38 is being invested in 107 essential services through United Way of Tompkins County's (UWTC) Community Care Fund and the Hunger & Food Security Fund. These investments are helping people meet immediate, basic needs while empowering lasting change.

Now Accepting Nominations for UWTC's Youth & Philanthropy Program
UWTC is now accepting nominations for the 15th Annual Youth and Philanthropy (YAP) program. YAP is a leadership initiative that gives students the opportunity to take an active role in their communities and invest $25,000 in grant funds.
Since 2000, about 200 students have awarded over $300,000 to local nonprofits. The program is made possible through the generous support of the Park Foundation. Read More.

2014-15 Community Campaign Kickoff
and Stephen E. Garner Day of Caring
Please join us on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Stewart Park for the 2014-15 UWTC Community Campaign Kick Off and Annual Stephen E. Garner Day of Caring.
The Day of Caring is a community-wide effort to gather non-perishable food, personal care items, pet food, and school supplies. All donations will be distributed throughout Tompkins County.
Take Action! Organizations, groups, and individuals are encouraged to begin collecting items now. Volunteer information will be released in September.

UWTC Youth Venture's The Honest Beauty Project Featured by Upworthy
This past July The Honest Beauty Project received national attention when featured on Upworthy, an online company whose mission is to "make important stuff...viral" through social media.
The Honest Beauty Project was created by two Lehman Alternative Community School students as a part of UWTC's Youth Venture Program. Their Facebook page has garnered over 5,277 likes since it started this winter. Learn more about the project by watching their video.
