THIS SUNDAY! Youth Sunday & Parish Cookout |
Youth Sunday, May 22 @ 11:15 Mass
Last Day of Sunday School
Teacher Appreciation
Parish Luncheon
Mark your calendars now for Youth Sunday! On Sunday morning, May 22 at the 11:15 Mass, we will give thanks for young people of our parish and our rapidly growing youth ministry program.
We will celebrate the success of another great year of Sunday school as we thank the teachers officially at the 11:15 Mass. And at the 11:15 Mass, teenagers will be serving as ushers, greeters, lectors, chalice bearers, and one of our seniors, Anna Siegfried, will be our preacher that morning.
The entire day will conclude with a festive and delicious cookout at the talented hands of our Knights of Columba. They will provide the main dish, and everyone is asked to bring a vegetable or side dish to share. The cookout begins at 12:30pm.
Please plan to join us for the celebration and parish luncheon at 12:30pm as we rejoice in the growth of our Christian Education and Youth Ministries!

Don't forget your summer donations
|
As you enjoy the summer season, please consider continuing your parish donations with the use of automatic payments while you are away.
Financially summer is our greatest challenge. Weekly donations decrease with increased parishioner vacations, yet our expenses continue and are even higher (air conditioning and water) during the summer months.
Please consider paying your weekly pledges ahead of time, mail your pledges to the church in care of the treasurer, or set up on-line bill pay with your bank. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to our treasurer Jeannie Lamp lamp.jeannie@gmail.com.

Donations for Rainbow Village
|
Donations needed for Trey Walker's Eagle Project
Rainbow village is a transitional housing program for women and their children. Their mission is to help break the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence. During the summer, Gwinnett County pays for the children of Rainbow Village to attend day camp, but they need sack lunches.
Please donate individually sized bags of salty items (chips, crackers etc.), sweet items (cookies etc.) or fruit cups. Donations are being collected in a labeled tub at the church. For more information please contact Trey Walker at gtwgww@bellsouth.net.

Food Pantry Ministry
|
Thanks to St. Columba's parishioners and others who supported food pantry donations in April, which totaled 280 pounds of food that was delivered to Emmaus House - thank you so much!! We will be providing May's donations of non-perishable food to The Place of Forsyth County, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (May 15th - Breakfast Sunday), which is the official collection day for the month. We are still lagging previous years on donations, so any additional help would be greatly appreciated!! We'll continue with the same list of needs as in recent months - 'hearty' or 'chunky' soups, canned or boxed milk, and canned pasta (ravioli, Beefaroni, etc). Other needs include canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and other items that can be stored for a long period of time. Donations can be placed in the tubs located next to the welcome table in the narthex - no glass bottles, please! Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
