Celebration of Ministry Dinner for Easton Davis

This Sunday, April 24, 2016 | 5:00 pm

Join us Sunday evening for a fantastic dinner celebration for Easton Davis as we gather to give thanks for the wonderful things Easton has accomplished in his four years as our Youth Director. He leaves St. Columba's (May 22) to join the diocesan staff as our Diocesan Youth Missioner. So plan to join us for a fabulous dinner, great fun and celebration, and lots of thankful prayers and good wishes as Easton begins this next chapter in his ministry.

Looking Ahead: Youth Sunday Celebration

May 22 | @ the 11:15 Mass

Mark your calendars now for Youth Sunday! On Sunday morning, May 22 at the 11:15 Mass, we will give thanks for young people of our parish and our rapidly growing youth ministry program, recognize our church school teachers, and celebrate another great year at a parish luncheon (12:30 pm). Graduating senior, Anna Siegfried will be our preacher that Sunday.

Sunday Lessons for Mass

Jesus says, "Love as I have Loved You"

Our opening collect prays that we may "know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps." In one of his last teaching moments with his disciples helps them see that way is to love one another as he has loved each of them. The way to eternal life is to love in that complete, unconditional way that God loves all of us. It was a hard lesson and the disciples didn't understand at first.

Do we understand the way of Jesus? It's not an easy way, but it is the way to eternal life. Maybe the Beatles had it right when they sang, "Love, love, love, all you need is love."
