Spring Faith Formation Offerings for Adults
Sunday Mornings
Will We Outlive the Church?
April 10 - May 22, 2016
10:10 am (In the Library - Cottage #102)
Religion in America is changing rapidly.  Christianity around the world is changing faster than it ever has.  Our experience within the Church is changing.  We are moving into uncharted waters as a people still wanting to be believers of God and living lives of faith, but distanced from a regular practice of worship, prayer and fellowship.  We will look at the ways Christianity is changing and what that means for us and for our children and grandchildren.  Things will never be the same... but that's what God has been trying to tell us all along; we just haven't been listening.  Until now.
Sunday Evenings
Yearning:  Practicing An Ancient Faith In A Modern World
Every Sunday Through May 15
5:00 pm (In the Library - Cottage #102)
Looking at what that means as we seek to live as sacramental, spiritual followers of Christ in an increasingly complex, divided, and secular world.  All are welcome!
 Thursdays
The Great Courses, "The New Testament"
Thursdays, April 14 - May 26
12:30 pm (In the Narthex)
A video and discussion series looking at the Gospels and Epistles that make up the New Testament.  We begin each Thursday with a 30 minute video presentation featuring Dr Part Ehrman, professor of religion at the University of North Carolina.  Then we have the opportunity over coffee and light snacks to discuss the video and our own experience of the New Testament Gospels and Epistles.  All are welcome!

Food Pantry Ministry

Thanks to St. Columba's parishioners and others who supported food pantry donations in March that totaled 233 pounds of food that was delivered to The Place of Forsyth County - thank you!!  We will be providing April's donations of non-perishable food to Emmaus House, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (April 17th - Breakfast Sunday), which is the official collection day for the month.  With Spring Break occurring in April and many people on vacation, we need special help this month on donations. We'll continue with the same list of needs as in recent months - 'hearty' or 'chunky' soups, canned or boxed milk, and canned pasta (ravioli, Beefaroni, etc).
Other needs include canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and other items that can be stored for a long period of time.  Donations can be placed in the tubs located next to the welcome table in the narthex - no glass bottles, please!  Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
