Advent Begins
Jeremiah 33:14-16, Thessalonians 3:9-13
and St. Luke 21:25-36
Advent begins this Sunday. With the traditional prelude "Sleepers Awake," our season of preparation and watching begins. We look both for the return of our Lord in triumph and great joy as well as for the celebration of his first coming in the stable of Bethlehem long ago. As we prepare, may the words of our hymn echo in our hearts, "so when next he comes in glory and the world is wrapped in fear, may he with his mercy shield us and with words of love draw near." Amidst the terrorist acts in Paris, shootings in Colorado, and growing tensions around the world, these words seem most appropriate as we look east to the God of love who comes day by day in the acts of love we show to those we meet this Advent season and every day of our lives.

Many thanks to Ron & Kathleen Kraynick who sorted the orders and to everyone who placed an order this year. The proceeds from your orders will help provide scholarship money for this summer's youth mission trip.
