Spring Parish Workday
Saturday, March 28 @ 8:00 - 2:00
Our spring parish workday will be this Saturday, March 28.  We'll be sprucing up things for Easter.  A light lunch will be served around 11.  Come for an hour or all day - depending on your schedule.  We'll have projects inside and out, big and small... something for everyone of every age!  We need your help, so please plan to come to the workday this Saturday.
Maundy Thursday Vigil Watch
Will You Stay and Watch Just One Hour?
April 3 & 4
One of the most moving devotions during Holy Week is keeping watch at the Altar of Repose following Maundy Thursday's Mass.  Around the world, Christians will keep watch throughout the night at their parish church's Altar of Repose from the conclusion of Maundy Thursday Mass until the start of the liturgy on Good Friday.  Jesus asked his disciples, "Will you stay and watch with me, even one hour?"  They did and their lives would never be the same.  Consider signing up to keep watch for one hour at the Altar of Repose this year.  It will make your Easter more than you ever thought it could be!
You can sign up on the sign up sheet at the Welcome Table on Sunday morning, or by clicking the link below and signing up online.  Our goal is to have each hour filled with at least one parishioner throughout the night (as many as would like can sign up for any of the time slots).  A deputy sheriff will be on duty throughout the night.

Easter Egg Hunt Preparations
Please Bring In Pre-Filled Easter Eggs
Easter Egg Hunt:  April 4 @ 4:30pm
easter-egg-hunt-2013 Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the Saturday before Easter, April 4 at 4:30 pm.  To prepare, we need everyone's help to bring in plastic pre-filled Easter Eggs this Sunday or next.  We need close to 1000 eggs.  With everyone's help, we can have another phenomenal Easter Egg hunt this year.   The children will have a chance to place flowers in the Easter cross and have pictures with the Easter Bunny - so mark your calendar and plan to attend this delightful part of our Easter celebration!
Calling All Men of the Parish
Men's Ministry Re-Organization Gathering April 9 OR April 10
Larry Hutson and Bill Parkinson invite all men of the parish to help re-organize the Knights of Columba, our men's fellowship group and ministry.  The purpose of the meeting is to re-group and build a strong faith-based social, community service and outreach-focused group.  If you are a male member of the church above the age of 21, congratulations, you are already a member of the Knights of Columba, and we would like to see you here.
Our goal for the meeting is to come up with social activities, community service projects and a focus for our outreach efforts.
The proposed dates are Thursday, April 9th and Friday April 10th, at 7 PM at Bill Parkinson's home:  5685 Habersham Valley, Suwanee, GA (in Olde Atlanta Club).  Please indicate which date would fit your schedule better by replying to this email.  If you can't make either date but would like to be part of the re-organization, please let me know that as well.  We will finalize on the date that is the best fit for the most people, and work to bring anyone who cannot attend up to speed via email.   Snacks will be provided, but please feel free to bring your favorite beverage. We are excited to see everyone in April.

Outreach Food Pantry
Help Stock the Food Pantries for Easter
Food pantry donations in March increased to 239 pounds - thankfully over 100 pounds more than February!  We are still over 100 pounds less year-to-date, however, than in 2014.  As we enter the Easter season, let us show our love for those in desperate need within our community!  We will be providing April's donations of non-perishable food to Emmaus House, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (April 19th - Breakfast Sunday), which is the official collection day for the month.  Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables, canned pasta (ravioli, Beefaroni, etc), canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and anything that can be stored for a long period of time.  Donations can be placed in the tubs located next to the welcome table in the narthex - no glass bottles, please!  Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
2nd Annual Mother's Day Outreach Dinner
Thursday, May 7 from  6:00-8:00pm
On Thursday, May 7 from 6:00 - 8:00pm, St. Columba's ECW  and our EYC will host for the second year in a row  a Mother's dinner for the deserving mothers of Rainbow Village.  The event will take place at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.  We would like to offer you the opportunity to help us make this event a huge success in several ways:
  • Be an Event Sponsor (100% of your tax deductible gift will go toward dinner and special gifts for the moms)
  • Donate Goods and/or Services (Donate specific items from Mothering Tree)
  • Pray for the Mothers of Rainbow Village (commit to lift up, and pray daily for one of the wonderful moms)
Your support for our Mother's dinner will directly support the families of Rainbow Village.  We will provide a wonderful, pampering dinner for the mothers of Rainbow Village, complete with music and child-care. The women and youth of the parish invite you to become a part of the Rainbow Village family that embraces and encourages these individuals.
Questions about this event?  For general questions, please contact Linda Reid ([email protected]) or 404-414-9893; for donations, please contact Catherine Bonnet ([email protected]) or 404-435-1002; for volunteering, please contact Ginger Walker ([email protected]) or 678-232-8453.
