The Annual St. Paddy's Gala -
This Sunday!
st-pat-dinner      It's almost here!  If you haven't already, plan to join us this coming Sunday, 8 March from 5:30 - 7:30 for our annual St. Paddy's Gala.  A few tickets are still available - but they won't last much longer.  Buy your ticket online today before they're all sold out.  There will be a delicious, traditional Irish meal, loads of music and singing, and an evening of fellowship and fun.  All of this, of course, is to help support our EYC's summer mission trip.  The trip has grown to nearly 80 - the largest ever!  It will be a life changing experience for the teenagers and a life-giving experience for those whom our teenagers will serve during their mission.
Help make this trip possible and buy a ticket today.  If you cannot attend, you can make a donation to support the trip.  Simply earmark your donation "EYC Mission Trip" and place it in the collection plate on Sunday morning or mail it to the parish office.

Lenten Opportunities
An Invitation To A Holy Lent
What are you doing during these 40 days of Lent to grow in your faith and strengthen your relationship with God?  Lent is an opportunity for us to work on our spiritual selves and discover a deeper faith that changes our lives by aligning the way we live and love more closely with the way God is calling us.  "Take on" one of the opportunities offered at St. Columba's this Lent to strengthen your faith and relationship with God.  If you do, Easter will mean more to you than ever before.
Join us on Sunday mornings for the Rector's Forum, "Under the Overpass," a look at how the three disciplines of Lent (prayer, self-denial, alms-giving) help us but also how they can change the world.  Each Thursday we gather at noon to pray the Rosary.  At 12:30 our regular Bible study changes its format and will be watching portions of The Passion of Christ with a lively discussion following.
Wednesday evenings has several offerings, and you can come for one or all of them, depending on your schedule.  We begin with a simple supper (all of it's provided), then Mass & Stations follows.  We conclude the evening with a discussion about the essential practices of the Christian faith.  Stations of the Cross is a vital part of Lent.  If you haven't made a habit of walking the Stations at church during Lent, why not give it a try this year?

Attention all women of the parish.  There will be a "LADIES ONLY" luncheon for all women of the parish on March 22nd, right after church provided by the Episcopal Church Women (ECW).  Sorry men, but this luncheon is only for the women of the church.  The luncheon is not a meeting, but simply fellowship and a way to get to know each other. The meal will be provided, so all you will need to bring is yourself.  We'll begin at 12:30 on the 22nd.  Join us for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, new friends at St. Columba.  Contact Allison Bronk (via email) if you have any questions or need additional information.
Fellowship Opportunity:  Meet & Mingle
Saturday, March 14 at 6:00 pm
Join us for our next "Meet and Mingles" fellowship event which will be held at the home of Tom & Linda Williams on Saturday, March 14 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
We have scheduled 2-3 Meet & Mingle events each quarter.  You can attend as many of them during that quarter as you'd like:  come to one a year or all twelve!  Each event will be held in the home of a parishioner and are designed to help us enjoy that great fellowship that is so much a part of our parish as we get to know one another better.   If you would like to sign up to host or co-host on of the quarterly "Meet & Mingles" or if you have a question about them, please contact Sandra Sirmon or Linda Williams (click here).  You can sign up online or at the Welcome Table on Sunday mornings.  All are welcome!

Hunger Walk
Sunday, March 15 at Turner Field, Atlanta
Our youth group will be joining teenagers from all parts of our Diocese for this year's annual Hunger Walk.  They will gather at Emmaus House at 10:30 for a lively Eucharist with Bishop Wright.  Some of our youth will help lead music for the liturgy.  A cookout on the grounds of Emmaus House will follow.  Then they will head to Turner Field for the 5K Walk to raise money for community food banks in Georgia.    Adults are welcome to join the teenagers.
EYC members and adult chaperones need to pre-register via the EYCDIOATL team link (click here).
Outreach Food Pantry
Help Support Our Local Food Pantries This Winter
Food pantry donations for 2015 in February were only 131 pounds - quite disappointing.  We need to get back on track in March so we can continue to provide local families with the vital necessities they so desperately need.  We will be providing March's donations of non-perishable food to The Place of Forsyth County, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (March 15th - Breakfast Sunday), which is the official collection day for the month.  Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables, canned pasta (ravioli, Beefaroni, etc), canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and anything that can be stored for a long period of time.  Donations can be placed in the tubs located next to the welcome table in the narthex - no glass bottles, please!  Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
