Beginning the 40-Day Journey

The word "Lent" comes from the Anglo-Saxon, "lengten." In this penitential season we have the opportunity to make an annual spiritual tune-up, a 40-day retreat with Our Lord. Join us as we begin this 40-day journey to Easter's resurrection. As we prepare to take on special habits of prayer or give up certain things, let us make a right beginning as we come together for Shrove Tuesday and again on Ash Wednesday.

Lenten Opportunities

Sunday Mornings @ 10:10 am
"Under the Overpass"
A journey of two young college students who discover a deeper faith as they leave behind a comfortable way of life in search of a faith that is real.  Their story is gritty, challenging, and utterly captivating. What we will discover together will radically alter how you see your world and may even change your life.

Wednesday Evenings
+ Lenten Supper @ 6:00-6:45 pm   (dinner provided; no need to bring a thing)
+ Healing Mass & Stations of the Cross @ 6:45 pm
   + Book Study @ 7:15 - 8:00 pm
Wednesday evenings after Mass & Stations, we'll discuss Archbishop Rowan Williams' book Being Christian: Baptism, Baptism, Eucharist, & Prayer.  This short and very accessible book explores four essential parts of our faith and how they help us live out our faith in the modern and rapidly changing world.  You can purchase the book online, but we'll discuss the Archbishop's points in such a way that you can easily participate each week whether or not you've read any of the book.

 Thursdays
   + The Rosary @ 12:00 n
   + The Passion of Christ @ 12:30
Two offerings each Thursday midday.  At noon, join us as we pray the Rosary.  Then at 12:30 a group will watch selections from The Passion of Christ and discuss the scriptural differences between each of the four gospel's narratives about Jesus Passion.
