ADVENT LESSONS & CAROLS

This Sunday,
December 7
at 4:00 pm

On Sunday, December 7 beginning at 4pm, our choir will sing Advent  Lessons  and Carols
.  We'll hear prophecies of our Savior's birth from the Old and New Testament Scriptures, and our choir will sing some of the most beautiful anthems that make up our Advent season of hope and expectation.
A festive reception will follow.  Plan to join us on 12/7 as we prepare to celebrate once again the birth of our Saviour!

Advent Begins This Sunday
"Therefore, keep awake-- for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or at dawn, or else he may find you asleep when he comes suddenly. And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake."
Advent 2
As we make our way around the advent wreath, the light of God coming among us grows.  We are reminded in our readings this coming Sunday that God has not forgotten his people; on the contrary, like a shepherd who cares for each one of his sheep, he is coming to establish his kingdom of kindness, truth, justice and peace in a new heaven and new earth.
In our gospel lesson we meet again St John Baptist.  His cry reminds us that we must prepare the way of the Lord, proclaiming his coming to all and preparing it with lives that reflect that perfect future which only he can inaugurate in its fullness.
