ECW News
Thanks to everyone for making our kick-off meeting
so memorable and meaningful!

Highlights:
Lorraine Bythewood led a poignant devotion on GIFTS that reminded us of the joy we feel as a Christian community of women. What a blessing it was to hear her words and share our answers to this question: What is the difference between the joy we feel at celebrations/special events and Christian joy?

Our calendar for the year is pretty well set, so check it out on Sign-Up Genius. Signing up in way advance gives us an idea of who is PLANNING to attend an event. You can always modify your RSVPs later, if something comes up.

We recommitted ourselves to sponsoring the Angel Tree and our Lenten Legacy project: the Mothers Dinner for the women of Rainbow Village.

We also discussed and agreed to take on:
1. The St. Columba's Lenten Devotional
2. The Rainbow Village Holiday Shopping Event. RV takes the children of the current and graduate residents on a shopping trip to buy Mom a present for the holidays. We would donate $25 gift cards* for each of the 36 children of the graduates. We also agreed to volunteer to shop with the children on Dec. 13th. We'll put out specific, detailed information soon.

*The store will either be Target, Walmart or Big Lots, but that hasn't been decided yet.

We need to wait until we know which store, before we purchase any gift cards.

Ginger volunteered to plan our holiday get together in Buford! We'll have lunch or dinner and see a play. The date will go on the Sign-up Genius as soon as it's set. Thank you Ginger!

Linda's Chicken Salad Recipe: Go to Kroger. Get equal parts of their chicken salad and Super Food Salad. Mix. Claim it as your own.

Allison Bronk has graciously offered to host our November meeting. Thank you, Allison! Here's a nice perk of hosting an ECW meeting - you don't have to clean up! At least six women will jump in and wash dishes, take out the garbage, and put the furniture back in place. It's glorious.

Thank you Debbie, Lorraine, Ginger, Stephanie, Allison and Stephanie! My house looks better than when you arrived! ~Linda

We need a devotion leader for next month, so pray on that! If no one signs up, Lorraine B. has to do it by default. ;)

Please take this survey about future ECW events and projects. Pass the survey link along to any and all women of the parish. The more input, the better.
