Confirmation @ St. Columba's
|
|
Sunday, May 11 at 11:15 am
Bishop Whitmore will be with us once again on Sunday May 11 (Mother's Day) to receive and confirm 23 teenagers and adults. After several months of preparation, prayer, and study, these teenagers and adults will make their profession of faith and confirm the promises of their baptisms. This is an exciting and inspiring liturgy and a tremendous moment in the lives of these St. Columbans. Following the 11:15 Mass, a reception for the confirmands and Bishop Whitmore will take place in the Narthex. All are invited.

Youth Sunday & Parish Luncheon |
|
Sunday, May 18 @ 9:00 and 11:15 am

11:15 - Senior Recognition& Teacher Recognition
12:30 - Parish Luncheon
Sunday May 18 will mark the end of another great year of Sunday school in the parish and will be Youth Sunday. In thanksgiving for our growing youth ministries in our parish, we will feature middle and high school teenagers in all aspects of our worship and fellowship this Sunday at both the 9 and 11:15 am Masses, with graduating senior James Bronk preaching.
During the 11:15 Mass, we will recognize our graduating high school and college seniors, present them with a gift, and wish them Godspeed as they prepare for the next steps in their journey.
Then, beginning at 12:30, everyone is invited to stay for a parish luncheon. The Knights of Columba will be at the grill and lunch will be served on the grounds and in the narthex.
Finally, this Sunday will be a chance to thank all of our wonderful teachers for another fantastic year of Sunday school. We will recognize all teachers at the 11:15 Mass as well.
Mark your calendars now and join us this Sunday as we give thanks for all the amazing things God is doing in our lives and in our parish!
NOTE: Since we will have a parish-wide luncheon on May 18 we will not have our usual 3rd Sunday breakfast in May. We will resume our 3rd Sunday breakfasts in June.

Great month, St. Columba's!! We collected 291 pounds of food with the April food drive, which was delivered to Emmaus House. We will be providing May's donations to The Place of Forsyth County, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (May 18th - Breakfast Sunday) which is the official collection day for the month - let's head into summer with a big collection!! Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables, peanut butter, and anything that can be stored for a long period of time. Donations can be placed in the tub located next to the welcome table in the narthex. Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - as always, thank you!
