Will You Watch With Me One Hour?
April 17, 9:00pm through April 18, 12:00noon

The sign up for Maundy Thursday's All Night Silent Vigil is at the Welcome Table.  By tradition, we keep watch with our Lord at the Altar of Repose in preparation for Good Friday.  This ancient and moving experience is open to everyone in the parish.  Our goal is to make sure each hour has someone keeping watch with our Lord, but as many as would like can keep watch at one time.  A deputy sheriff will be on duty in the parking lot throughout the night.  Consider making this a part of your Easter preparation this year!
Bring Out Your Eggs
Easter Egg Hunt - Holy Saturday, 19 April @ 4:30 pm
We need donations of EasterEggs for the annual EasterEgg hunt that will take place on Holy Saturday at 4:30pm.
We need approximately 1000 pre-filled plastic Eastereggs (please make sure the candy inside contains no nut products).  Please  bring EasterEggs to the church by  Maundy Thursday, April 17.
There will be games, lemonade, cookies, pictures with the Easter bunny, flowering of the Easter cross, and the annual EasterEgg Hunt.  All the fun and activities begin promptly at 4:30 pm.

This year's theme "Weird Animals" will focus on the awesome and unique way Jesus loves each and everyone of us.  A week filled with song, Bible stories, games, and projects, children will grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with God.  VBS is open to children Pre-K through 6th grade and middle school and high school teenagers are asked to help as crew leaders or program leads.  Ginger Walker and Christine Burrell will be coordinating the week this year.  If you have any questions, please speak with Ginger or Christine.

Outreach Ministry News
After a slow start to the year, we collected 216 pounds of food with the March food drive, which was delivered to The Place of Forsyth County.  We will be providing April's donations to Emmaus House, collecting food each week leading up to the third Sunday of the month (April 20) which is the official collection day for the month.  Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables, peanut butter, and anything that can be stored for a long period of time.  Donations can be placed in the tub located next to the welcome table in the narthex.  Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!

Mother's Day with Rainbow Village
Thursday, May 8

On Thursday, May 8th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, St. Columba's ECW and EYC will host a Mother's dinner for the deserving mothers of Rainbow Village at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian church located at 3700 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth.  The dinner will offer our church community the opportunity to rejoice in Rainbow Village's success, while enjoying great fellowship and fun through service. We would like to offer you the opportunity to help us make this event a huge success in several ways:

  • Be an Event Sponsor (100% of your tax deductible gift will go toward the dinner, crafts & dinner for the children, and special gifts for the moms)
  • Donate Goods and/or Services (Donate specific items from our list - see our display at church this Sunday)
  • Pray for the Mothers of Rainbow Village (commit to lift up and pray daily for one of the wonderful moms)
