Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Tuesday, March 4 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Join us for the traditional pancake supper the evening before Ash Wednesday. "Shrove Tuesday" is a day of preparation for the 40 day season of Lent. Pancakes and celebration were a way of preparing our hearts and homes for the season of penitence, fasting, and self-denial. Our EYC will be hosting the entire parish for a fun evening of pancakes, games, and fellowship. The cost is only $3 per person and $10 max per family. **Bring in your palms from last Palm Sunday between now and Shrove Tuesday evening. We will burn them Shrove Tuesday evening to make ashes for our Ash Wednesday liturgies.

St. Paddy's Celebration & Dinner Gala
Sunday, March 16 @ 5:30p
Register Early - Space is Limited!
Back by popular demand, our EYC will once again be hosting a St. Paddy's celebration and dinner gala at the church! It will be an evening of delicious traditional Irish food: corned beef hash, brisket, cabbage, potato soup, and soda bread. Of course there will be "traditional Irish beverages and lucky green solo cups!" Members of the EYC will provide a wonderful assortment of music throughout the meal. Space is limited - so register early! The cost is $20 per person ($10 for children 10 and under) if you register by 3/9. This is a fun evening but also a very important fundraiser for the EYC summer mission trip. >> Click Here to make your reservation and for more information.

Winter Coat Drive Super Success!
A special thank you to all who provided what was an incredible response to the coat drive to benefit Emmaus House!! St. Columba's parishioners, together with other friends and neighbors in south Forsyth, were able to deliver a total of 124 youth and adult coats along with multiple bags of gloves, scarves, and hats! The coats and other articles of clothing were delivered to Emmaus House this past week and will be distributed to those in need in the Peoplestown community. With the winter we have been having and that is forecasted for the future, your assistance was invaluable in providing literal warmth to others. The staff at Emmaus House were once again overwhelmed by the generosity of the members of St. Columba's and our commitment to being a positive force in the community - again, thank you!

Backpacks of Love Sponsors Needed
Backpacks of Love supports children and families with 165 food-filled backpacks every other week - that's more than 6000 pounds of food, delivered one backpack at a time to 19 schools in Forsyth and Fulton counties. St. Columba's partnered with Backpacks of Love a year ago and generous parishioners regularly fill 15-18 backpacks for every delivery. But with the program's tremendous growth this school year, Backpacks of Love urgently needs more backpack sponsors.
How can you help?
When you sign up as a backpack sponsor, you'll get a schedule of upcoming delivery dates by email. Simply respond with the dates where you can help, pick up an empty backpack at church, fill it with groceries and toiletry items, and return it by 12 noon on the assigned drop-off day. You can sponsor a backpack every two weeks, once a month, or on whatever schedule works for you. When you sign up, you'll get a suggested shopping list and some information about the family you're shopping for. Backpacks of Love is a simple and meaningful way to help at-risk children in our local community.
For more information or to sign up, please contact Ron and Kathleen Kraynick at via email or 675-557-4111.
