Register Early - Space is Limited!
Back by popular demand, our EYC will once again be hosting a St. Paddy's celebration and dinner gala at the church! It will be an evening of delicious traditional Irish food: corned beef hash, brisket, cabbage, potato soup, and soda bread. Of course there will be "traditional Irish beverages and lucky green solo cups!" Members of the EYC will provide a wonderful assortment of music throughout the meal. Space is limited - so register early! The cost is $20 per person ($10 for children 10 and under) if you register by 3/9. Candlemass
This Sunday, February 2
Join us this Sunday for Candlemass. Exactly 40 days after Christmas we commemorate the Holy Family coming to the Temple for the Presentation of Jesus to the Simeon who exclaims, " Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation..." and then the response of the wise prophetess Anna who confesses Christ as she meets him in the shadows of the Temple. At the 11:15 Mass, the St. Columba Choir will sing Daniel Hahn's arrangement of the Nunc Dimittis, the prayer and song of Simeon which becomes our prayer as we too meet the depths of God's love in the light of Christ.

F.E.A.S.T. Group Sign Ups Underway February 15 - Feast Group Social
Looking to join a small group where you can develop close friendships and grow in your faith as you share a meal together? Then Feast Groups is for you. The spring/summer session sign ups begin in January. There will be a Social on Saturday, February 15, 6:30 pm at church to get acquainted with your group. Then from March till September you will get together with your group (about 6 times) to share a meal. The groups are limited to about 8 to 10 people, with both couples and singles included. You may choose to belong to a Home, Restaurant, or Family Group. Within each group everyone takes a turn being the host. With Home or Family Groups the host provides the menu and main dish. The Home or Family Group host coordinates with the others to bring the rest so no one has to prepare a complete meal! With Restaurant Groups, the host decides at which restaurant they will meet. The Groups will, as always, be shuffled again after this session. Next September, we will have sign ups for the fall/winter Feast Group session. Please sign up at the Welcome Table of email Sandra Sirmon at smsirmon@bellsouth.net.

Vestry Return From Annual Retreat
Wardens Elected
& Commissions Center Around Mission
With the four newly elected vestry members, our vestry went on their annual retreat last weekend at Camp Mikell. The weekend focused on how our parish life and ministries can grow in depth as we move beyond our first ten years. Todd Reid was appointed by Father Tripp as the the senior warden and Dale Humphries was elected Junior Warden by the vestry. Jeannie Lamp was re-appointed to continue serving as our parish treasurer for another three-year term. Vestry commissions were grouped by ministry as they relate to our parish mission statement: "A holy place where love is found, where all are named, and where hearts are freed to change the world."

Winter Coat Drive Drop Off Deadline February 2
Did you get a new winter coat for Christmas this year? Have an extra coat in your closet? It's obvious to everyone that this is another very cold one. Please help us bring warmth to those in need by bringing in new or gently used coats for donation to Emmaus House. Coats for adults and children in all sizes are needed. We will have a box for donations located in the narthex through 2/2. Thanks very much for your generosity

Food Pantry Reminders
We had a slow start to our 2014 food pantry efforts, collecting 176 pounds of food with the January food drive, which was delivered to Emmaus House. We will be providing February's donations to The Place of Forsyth County, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (February 16th - Breakfast Sunday) which is the official collection day for the month. Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables and anything that can be stored for a long period of time. As usual, donations can be placed in the tub located next to the welcome table in the narthex. Food insecurity continues to be a huge issue in both our immediate area and Atlanta as a whole, so please consider helping in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
