Youth Sunday
 & Parish Cookout
Youth-Sunday
Sunday, May 19
Mark your calendars now for Youth Sunday!  On Sunday morning, May 18 at both our 9:00 and 11:15 Masses, we will give thanks for young people of our parish and our rapidly growing youth ministry program.  We will celebrate the success of another great year of Sunday school as we thank the teachers officially at the 11:15 Mass.  And at both the 9 and 11:15 Masses, teenagers will be serving as ushers, greeters, lectors, chalice bearers, and one of our seniors, Emma Siegfried, will be our preacher that morning.

The entire day will conclude with a festive and delicious cookout at the talented hands of our Knights of Columba.  They will provide the main dish, and everyone is asked to bring a vegetable or side dish to share.  The cookout begins at 12:30pm.

United Thank Offering Sunday
This Sunday - May 5
Sunday, May 5 is United Thank Offering Sunday, and we will be collecting the blue UTO boxes which are found in the Narthex by the name tags. Take home a mite box to fill with your change in thanksgiving for the blessings in your life, and then bring it back on May 5. The UTO is a program of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole Church, founded by and administered by women since 1889. The UTO Committee is a partner in the mission work of The Episcopal Church, through every person in every pew. UTO is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the United Thank Offering monies through grants. The Committee awards and administers these grants within the framework of the policies and procedures of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS) of The Episcopal Church. A special thanks to Wendy Martin for coordinating UTO Sunday for us.
Youth Field Day @ St. Columba's
May 5 @ 1:00pm
All youth 5th-12th grades are invited
EYC is hosting our first annual St. Columba's EYC Field Day on May 5th from 1 PM until 3:30 PM. There will be plenty of games, music, and fellowship. All rising 6th graders and parents are invited to attend. This will be the first chance to get a taste if what EYC is all about. All new EYC parents will get the chance to ask questions and get the facts on the program. Come out and join us as we hop in some potato sacks and jump for Jesus!  Check out details for this event as well as our spring and summer schedule on the EYC page of our parish website (click here).
Attention Graduates

Holy Oldies Indy 500
May 18 from 7:00-9:00pm
The Holy Oldies group (55&up) will hold their Indy 500 party on Saturday, May 18 at the church.  The evening will be a time of food, fellowship, music, and fun.  The cost is only $5 per person to cover supplies.  Everyone is asked to bring an appetizer to share and a beverage of their choice.  You can sign up at the welcome table on Sunday mornings or email Linda Sammons or Jim Edwards.

Dollars for Green

We are continuing the sod project, began last year, to include the area between the building and the classrooms and also in front of the cross on the exterior east wall of the church, that you see everytime you enter the drive into St. Columba's.  We use these areas for special events and the new grass will improve the condition of these areas.  We are currently trying to raise $3,000 for the grass sod and ground preparation. Our financial deadline is Sunday, May 5th.

Please consider what you can individually contribute toward a $300.00 pallet of sod. Every $1.00, $10.00, or $100.00 helps toward our goal of $3,000.00. Please make your donation to St. Columba's by cash or check, earmark your donation "Sod Project." Please support this special project as it is outside of our operating budget for this year.  We are excited about this project and continued improvements to the parish grounds as we move towards our 10th anniversary celebration this coming fall!

Outreach Food Ministry

We collected 233 pounds of food with the March food drive, which was delivered to The Place of Forsyth County-back up to the amount we have typically donated to the non-profits we support, so thank you. Let's please keep it going in the month of May as the need definitely continues! We will be providing April's donations to Emmaus House, collecting food each week leading up to the 3rd Sunday of the month (May 19 - Breakfast Sunday) which is the official collection day for the month. Biggest needs are canned soups and vegetables and anything that can be stored for a long period of time.

Donations can be placed in the tub located next to the welcome table in the narthex. Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need - thank you!
