Singers Needed

The St. Columba's Choir is searching for singers of all voice parts, especially tenors, and we invite you to sing with us. You don't need a background in music or a soloist's voice, just the ability to sing in tune and attend rehearsals (Thursdays, 7:00-8:45 pm). Prospective singers are welcome to attend one or more rehearsals before deciding. For more information, please speak with Daniel Hahn after Mass or at the office (770-888-4464 x8003 or click here to send an email).

Choir to Sing At Cathedral of St. Philip
The St. Columba's Choir has been invited to sing Evensong at the Cathedral of St. Philip (2744 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, 30305) on Sunday, February 24, at 4:00 pm. Evensong, which is made up of readings, prayers, and magnificent music, is a beautiful service, especially in the inspiring setting of a  cathedral. This invitation is a rare opportunity and a great honor for our choir and parish, and we hope you'll join us at the Cathedral. An organ recital played by Daniel Hahn will precede Evensong at 3:15 pm.       (Click here for directions to the Cathedral)

Let There Be Light - Lunch

If you are interested in learning more, please plan to join LTBL on February 25 at 11:30am at St Columba's. Our Verger Jerry Adams and Deacons Bob and Diane Millott, will lead this month's program. We are looking forward to learning more about their roles and getting better acquainted. A sign-up sheet is available at the Welcome Table but please join us even if it's last minute. For more information about LTBL, simply email Judy Moorman (email link) or just come - there will always be plenty to share!

Lenten Programs
Sunday Mornings - 10:10am
Living in Covenant with God

rainbow We live as a covenant people and what this means is described beautifully in the images of our own baptismal covenant.  Lent is is season of journey in faith whose destination is always a stronger faith renewed in the light of hope and love which we encounter Easter morning as we celebrate Jesus resurrection.  In our look into covenants of the Old Testament and the covenant established with us in Jesus, our Lenten journey will be one of renewed hope and deepening faith.    Click Here for more information.

   Wednesday Evenings - 6:30pm
Experiencing the Mystery of God
Prayer, Worship, Silence, &Song

stations This year our Wednesday program will take on a slightly different style.  Instead of a class on spirituality or faith which has been the centerpiece of our Wednesday nights in previous years, we will instead have the opportunity to experience different ways of praying.  Stations of the Cross will be a regular component of each Wednesday, but each week it will have another liturgy that will allow us to experience other types of prayer and devotion from the rich liturgical heritage of our Church.

St. Patrick's Day Parish Dinner
st-pat-dinner Sunday, March 17 - 5:30 to 7:30pm

Everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!  And in that spirit, our very own youth group is throwing a traditional Irish dinner for the entire parish.  There will be corned beef, cabbage, Irish soda bread, and potatoes - Linda and Todd Reid's famous recipe - hotdogs and other kid friendly food too.  Desserts and Irish beverages will be served by the adult leprechauns too.

As a special treat, the talent of our parish will be featured during a special "Guitaritas" - or offering of music by some incredible musicians and voices from our youth group and youth leaders.  It will be a night not to be missed.  All proceeds will help defray the costs for the youth mission trip this summer.  Space is limited and the cost will be $15 for adults, $7 for children under 12.  Fabulous food, a great celebration, Irish cheer, phenomenal entertainment... make your reservation today.  Click Here to make your reservation.
