Christmas Pageant Information
|
 The annual St. Columba's Christmas Pageant will take
place during the 5:00pm Mass on Christmas Eve. All children are welcome to participate. Many parts do not require preparation; just simply show up at 4:00pm on Christmas Eve and we will f
ind a part for you. There are lots to choose from (stars, angels, animals, etc). In addition, there are a number of speaking parts.
Auditions for the speaking parts will take place on Sunday Dec. 16th either during Sunday school or immediately after the 11:15 Mass. For more information, see Wendy Lambert or Lorraine Ferguson for details. High school or adult helpers are needed. Please contact Lorraine Ferguson if you are interested in helping.

Christmas Cookies for the Church of the Common Ground

Spreading God's Love One Cookie At A Time
This coming Sunday we will deliver 55 dozen cookies to the Church of the Common Ground, our diocesan mission to the homeless in Atlanta. All cookies need to be brought to the church this coming Sunday morning by 10:00 am. The Youth Group will sort the cookies during Sunday school so the cookies can taken to Common Ground leaving by 11am.

Calling All Women of the Parish
All ladies of the parish are invited to the ECW Ornament Exchange Gathering on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 pm at the church. Bring a wrapped Christmas ornament to exchange and a bottle of wine, dessert, or appetizer to share. No need to RSVP, and you can always bring a friend or two with you. ECW is a great way to get to know others in the parish and also to get to know your friends here even better!

Financial Peace University @ St. Columba's

If one of your New Year's resolutions is to get a handle on your personal finances, take a great step toward achieving that goal by attending St. Columba's offering of Financial Peace University (FPU) beginning on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. FPU is a life-changing 9 week course developed by personal finance expert Dave Ramsey. It is designed to teach couples or single adults how to manage their money, get out of debt, and build a strong financial future for themselves and their families. This course is not about fancy financial techniques, but about changing your financial behavior as a family and understanding how God wants us to be stewards of our money to achieve Financial Peace. Christmas Coat Drive - Huge Success!

| A special thank you to all who provided what was an overwhelming response to the coat drive to benefit Emmaus House!! We were able to deliver a total of 120 youth and adult coats along with a number of gloves, scarves, and hats! The coats and other articles of clothing were delivered to Emmaus House this past week and will be distributed to those in need in the Peoplestown community. With a winter that is forecast to be colder than normal, your assistance was invaluable in providing literal warmth to others, whose reality can at times include power being turned off and there being no other way to stay warm. The generosity of St. Columba's continues to be a positive force in our community - again, thank you! |
