Advent Lessons & Carols
This Sunday - December 9 at 4:00 pm
Join us this coming Sunday afternoon at 4pm for a wonderful celebration of the season of Advent.  This traditional Anglican liturgy features Old and New Testament prophecies, interspersed with carols and anthems for the season of Advent. Our choir will sing music by Ravenscroft, Wood, Manz, and others.  A reception follows.  All are welcome!
Angel Tree Presents Due Back This Sunday
Outreach Gifts Due Back Sunday
All Angel Tree gifts need to be brought to the church by 12:00noon this coming Sunday, 9 December.  The ECW will gather in Cottage #302 at 12:30 this Sunday to wrap presents and prepare them for delivery to Faith House and to Emmaus House.  There are MANY presents to wrap so all women of the church are invited to help.
A tremendous thank you to everyone who helped with this joy-filling ministry this year!  Again we were able reach out in the abundance of God's love ... not one ornament was left! Thank you so very much; your time and gifts will brighten the Christmas season for so many families and children in need.
Christmas Cookies for the Church of the Common Ground
Spreading God's Love One Cookie At A Time
We will deliver about 55 dozen homemade cookies to the Church of the Common Ground on Sunday, December 16. So, when you make your homemade cookies, why not
plan to bake an extra dozen or so? Bring your cookies to St. Columba's this Sunday or next: 12/9 or 12/16 (before 10am on 12/16) in ziploc freezer bag.
At 10am on December 16, the middle and high school Sunday School classes will divide the cookies into 80 individual bags.  Our deacons will leave after Sunday school to deliver the cookies to the Church of the Common Ground downtown.  If you would like to help deliver the cookies, a few spaces are available and the experience of visiting the Church of the Common Ground will be a true joy.

Click Here to send an email to Deacon Diane Millott to let her know how many cookies you plan to bake and also if you'd like to visit the Church of the Common Ground on December 16.

Stewardship Campaign Continues
give-cheerfully
For the Lord loves a cheerful giver ...
If you haven't yet made a financial commitment for 2013, please take a moment now as we move deeper into the giving season and support the mission of your parish as together we continue to spread the Good News of God's love.  We need the support of every family for the coming year - we can't do it without your help.  Every pledge is important, no matter the size.

Financial Peace University @ St. Columba's
January 15 - March 12
If one of your New Year's resolutions is to get a handle on your personal finances, take a great step toward achieving that goal by attending St. Columba's offering of Financial Peace University (FPU) beginning on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. FPU is a life-changing 9 week course developed by personal finance expert Dave Ramsey. It is designed to teach couples or single adults how to manage their money, get out of debit, and build a strong financial future for themselves and their families. This course is not about fancy financial techniques, but about changing your financial behavior as a family and understanding how God wants us to be stewards of our money to achieve Financial Peace. For more information or to register for this course, please go to our course website (click here) at or contact the course facilitator, Lane Chambers (email) or 678-994-6071 .
