Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of  your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and  the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Advent Wreath Making Event

Sunday, 25 November at 10:10 am

Join us this coming Sunday as we come together to make advent wreaths for our homes.  The season of Advent begins in just over a week (2 December), so we'll gather this coming weekend to make wreaths for our home devotions during this holy season of preparation, expectation, and hope.  We will have wreaths and candles for you to purchase.  All you need to bring is fresh cut greenery from home.  You can cut from your gardens or stop by a Christmas tree farm or local nursery for some of their scap cuttings.  We will also provide information and prayers for use as we mark the days of Advent looking east toward Bethlehem and the coming of our Saviour.

Stewardship Campaign for 2013
give-cheerfully
Our annual pledge drive for 2013 is still underway and our Ingathering Sunday for pledges is this coming Sunday, 25 November.  As we pause to give thanks for the blessings of our lives God has poured upon us, let us not forget our parish family and how God is calling us to support the mission and ministry of St. Columba's with our financial pledge.  All pledges are important and needed as we continue to spread the Good News of the Gospel through our parish.  For more information or to make a pledge securely online, Click Here >>

Outreach Event

This year we will be supporting 5 families in need in our local community, through the ministry of Faith House, by providing gifts and clothing for Christmas.  We will also provide toys for the children of Emmaus House in downtown Atlanta.

Everyone's support is greatly needed for these two wonderful Christmas outreach projects.

Advent
Lessons &
Carols
On Sunday, December 9 beginning at 4pm, we will have our Advent Lessons and Carols concert.  We'll hear prophecies of our Saviour's birth from the Old and New Testament Scriptures as our choir sings some of the most beautiful anthems and hymns that make up our Advent season of hope and expectation.  A reception will follow.  Plan to join us on 12/9 as we prepare to celebrate once again the birth of our Saviour!
