Annual Parish Meeting & Vestry Elections
THIS Sunday, November 4 from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the Church
Our Annual All-Parish Meeting will take place Sunday morning, November 4 at 10:00. We'll gather in the church during our Sunday School hour and will the opportunity to hear from the parish wardens, the treasurer, and elect four new members to the Vestry. It's an exciting time in the life of the parish as we celebrate a great year together in mission and ministry and look ahead to 2013.  Mark your calendars now and plan to attend our Annual Parish Meeting on November 4th.
We will also elect four new members to the parish vestry.  The nominees to be elected are:  Dale Humphries, Margie Hutson, Kendra West, and Linda Williams.  As we have four vacancies and four nominees, we will elect these parishioners by acclamation during the annual meeting.  A special thanks to the members who will rotate off vestry for their three years of service, dedication, and ministry:  Catherine Bonnet, Ron Kraynick, and Wendy Lambert.
Annual Requiem Mass for All Faithful Departed
Next Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 pm

The Solemnity of All Souls is the time which the Church sets apart to remember all the faithful departed we have loved and entrusted back to God's gracious care.  The official date is November 2 each year; but we will observe All Souls' Day on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m.

It is traditional on All Souls' Day to pray for loved ones at a special Requiem Mass.   The deadline for having a name printed in the bulletin has passed, but you can still have a name added to the list that will be prayed aloud on the 7th.  Simply email Daniel Hahn no later than Tuesday, November 6 (click here).

Please set aside time in your schedules now and plan to attend this moving liturgy.  A special thanks to our parish choir who have been working very hard preparing for both All Souls' Day as well as All Saints' Sunday.  Note:  our regular Wednesday Mass time is usually 6pm; for November 7th, Mass will be said at 7:00pm and reception follows.

Outreach Ministry Update
Food Pantry Ministry Continues
We collected 199 pounds of food with the October food drive, which was delivered to Emmaus House.  Your continued support is greatly appreciated and makes a difference for those in need!  With Thanksgiving coming later this month, please help to show how thankful we are for the blessings we have.  We will be providing November's donations to The Place of Forsyth County.  As in past months, we will be collecting food throughout the month, with the 3rd Sunday of the month (November 18th - Breakfast Sunday) being the official collection day for the month.  Biggest needs this month are canned spaghetti sauce, 1 lb boxes of spaghetti, Tuna Helper, canned hearty soups, canned applesauce, boxed potatoes, and Parmalat/Borden's or Hershey's boxed milk.  Donations can be placed in the tub located next to the welcome table in the narthex.  Please begin or continue to help in this effort to assist local families in need and continue to increase the poundage of food we deliver - thank you!
Parish Bazaar Update
Dear Friends at St. Columba
Ten months ago I had a vision which I shared with Father Tripp. He gave me the go ahead to plan our First Annual Bazaar. I immediately received great support from so many of you that I was encouraged to get this Bazaar going.  So now 10 months later I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who supported this effort with your time, talent and treasure. Without any of this we would have had a failure. We raised enough money to cover our expenses plus about $3,000 as seed money for next year. Many of the expenses will not be repeated again as we can use some of the items yearly. We also had a good time, made many new friends, had lots of good food, and took home some great items which we could not live without!  My thanks to everyone, what a wonderful Church we have to share with each other.  May God Bless you all.
