Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Parish Life & Fellowship
Parish Workday
This Saturday, October 27 - 8:30 am
This is our last chance to spruce up the grounds in preparation for Thanksgiving, Christmas and those winter months when we long to be outside. We'll be tending the flower beds and planting daffodil bulbs.  If you'd like to donate bulbs, large bags of bulbs can be purchased at Pike's, Lowes or Home Depot for a very reasonable price. All donations of bulbs are gratefully appreciated. Last year we planted over 1000 and could use at least that amount again.
Parish Bazaar Wrap-Up Meeting
Monday, October 29 - 7pm

On Monday, October 29, at 7 p.m.we will meet at the church for a final wrap-up for our First Annual Bazaar. Will those of you who headed up any part of our efforts please bring a written report to file away for next year? Your report should summarize the details of what you coordinated and also include all the good things and your views what to add or improve for next year.  Thanks to everyone for making our first Parish Bazaar such a tremendous success!

Holy Oldies "Football Gala"

Saturday, November 3 - 7pm

If you are among the very fortunate to be 55 or older or have a spouse who is 55 or older, you are cordially invited to come help us celebrate the Fall College Football season on November 3 at the Aberdeen Clubhouse (directions link).  We'll also be celebrating those who have birthdays in September, October and November. This is always a fun time to share in music, food, fellowship and games. We gather at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00.  A sign up sheet is at the Welcome Table at church.

happening Happening #58

Registration is now open for the next Happening Retreat, open to all those in 9-12th grades.  The weekend is an awesome opportunity to grow in your faith and meet teenagers from around the diocese.

Space is limited and we expect this weekend to fill up quickly; so register early.  The deadline to register is November 4 at midnight. Scholarships are available.  To learn more about the weekend, click here.

Special Events Coming Up
Annual Parish Meeting & Vestry Elections
Sunday, November 4 from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the Church
Our Annual All-Parish Meeting will take place Sunday morning, November 4 at 10:00. We'll gather in the church during our Sunday School hour and will the opportunity to hear from the parish wardens, the treasurer, and elect four new members to the Vestry. It's an exciting time in the life of the parish as we celebrate a great year together in mission and ministry and look ahead to 2013.  Mark your calendars now and plan to attend our Annual Parish Meeting on November 4th.
We will also elect four new members to the parish vestry.  A special thanks to Catherine Bonnet, Ron Kraynick and Wendy Lambert as they rotate off the vestry.  If you would like to nominate yourself or another parishioner to stand for vestry election, please submit the name to Ron Kraynick or Lorraine Ferguson, our parish wardens.  The link below has more information on vestry elections.
Annual Requiem Mass for All Faithful Departed
Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 pm

The Solemnity of All Souls is the time which the Church sets apart to remember all the faithful departed we have loved and entrusted back to God's gracious care.  The official date is November 2 each year; but we will observe All Souls' Day on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m.

It is traditional on All Souls' Day to pray for loved ones at a special Requiem Mass.  For the printed bulletin, names need to be sent to Daniel Hahn no later than Monday, October 29 (click here).   By tradition, a list of all those remembered at the All Souls' Mass is left on the Altar stone throughout the year as a symbol of our hope that we will one day stand again with those we have loved and entrusted back to God.

Please set aside time in your schedules now and plan to attend this moving liturgy.  A special thanks to our parish choir who have been working very hard preparing for both All Souls' Day as well as All Saints' Sunday.  Note:  our regular Wednesday Mass time is usually 6pm; for November 7th, Mass will be said at 7:00pm and reception follows.
