EWMCE and the University of Alberta Collaborate to Decrease the University's Waste Materials going to Landfill by 28%
Over the past few years, annual U of A waste audits were conducted by the University and EWMCE. A waste audit is a study that characterizes the amount and type of waste materials that are being recycled and/or landfilled. Despite a 9% growth in the population at the U of A, there was an overall reduction of waste collected by 9% and an increase of materials being recycled and composted by 10%.
