Sanders Medical Inc.
Fall 2009
Fall Means Skin Rejuvenation Time

Greetings!

We have some exciting news at Sanders Medical, but before we get to that don't forget now is the best time to consider treatments to repair the summer skin damage we all aquire from a summer of great outdoor experiences. Any brownish discoloration or capillaries represent sun damage that can lead to premature photoageing of the skin not to mention skin cancer. Both IPL and Profractional laser treatrments can reduce the effects of sun ageing as can a good medical cosmeceutical skin care program. See one of our doctors for a medical skin assessment and we can recommend the best treatment plan for you. Click here for details:
GP Dermatology

Both Dr. Bill and Dr. April Sanders are currently enrolled in a dermatology diploma program offerd through the University of Cardiff Wales. This is a year long program will provide our doctors with enhanced general practice training in most common dermatologic conditions. Our goal is to improve our service to patients as we now see many patients with a variety of skin conditions. The doctors have already travelled to Wales once this year to meet with professors and colleaugues from around the world who are involved in the program. Though not intended to replace formal dermatology services, it will give our colleagues another option for referral when requiring assistance managing certain dermatologic conditions.

April and Bill in Honduras Again

In the Spring Drs. April and Bill were in Honduras for the third time to help in a medical effort to provide residents of three Honduran communities (Tela, La Ceiba, and Olanchito) with vein care. Advanced vein disease, often with severe leg ulcers, is very prevelent in third world countries due to the high pregnancy rates in women and generally very poor or absent medical care. Our team was able to treat 1500 patients in the three clinics over 5 days in March. If you are interested in seeing some of our Honduras pictures come see us on Facebook.

Dr. Sanders Board Certified by the American Board of Phlebology

In June of 2009 Dr. William (Bill) Sanders along with about two dozen other Canadian Phlebologists (vein doctors) challenged and passed the American Board of Phlebology exam further adding to the credentials of Sanders Medical Vein and Laser as a leader in vein care. Sanders Medical is also acredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC as a Non-Hospital Medical Surgical Facility. Accreditation of this type has only been granted to 69 other clinics in BC as part of a process to ensure our patients are receiving the highest level of care and meeting rigid criteria for our operations.

Guess who gave us a call?

We were recently contacted by the producers of the television show "The  Doctors" because they were doing a segment on vein sclerotherapy and found our website. They told us our beofre and after photos were some of the best they had seen and asked if they could use them on their show. We didn't release them, because they are not ours to release, but it was fun nonetheless to have received interest from such a high profile show!
