NEW Juvederm with Lidocaine
Drs. Bill and April Sanders are now offering virtually painless filler injections using Juvederm with Lidocaine. Juvederm is supplied by Allergan, the same company that supplies Botox and it meets their very high standards for excellence and quality control. The advantage of this great new product is that it freezes the skin as it is injected. The beauty of this is that injections are virtually painless. It is now possible to inject even lips with no additional anaesthetic i.e. no dental blocks. The result is a very comfortable procedure that provides excellent and lasting results.

Ask the Doctors
Q: I've heard about skin peels but am confused about the various options. Can you shed some light on this please?
A: Peeling refers to the removal of layers of skin to achieve better texture, tone and complexion. It can range from very mild peeling such as occurs with Microdermabrasion, to more extensive peels with various chemical agents (glycolics, retinols, lactic acid etc.) and finally laser peels. Photodynamic Therapy which uses the topical medication Levulan followed by "photoactivation" with a special blue light is a specialized peel for patients with numerous facial precancers. The best and most precise peels occur with the use of lasers. Lasers peels can range from the milder Microlaser Peel to full face laser resurfacing. Generally laser peels are deeper and better controlled than chemical peels and give better results. It is a good rule of thumb to consider that the deeper the peel, the better the results but also the more the downtime. We consider the patient's desires and schedule to determine the best peel for the individual. The newest technology is fractionated laser resurfacing which can give excellent results with much less downtime (typically 2-3 days of redness). Fractional laser treatments or the "Profractional" also have the added benefit of improving tissue collagen and restoring facial elasticity.
