The UCE message is not just for Africa. It is for us in the USA and for everyone, everywhere. At this very moment, the UCE Executive Director sends special greetings to all of us on Valentine's Day from the Philippines, where he is exploring the possibility of UCE programs there. His message, excerpting 1 Corinthians 13, reminds us what love really is: (Manila Philippines facebook Andrew Dernovsek) "...When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood. So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"  Happy Valentine's Day!

Award Dedicated to Tanzanian Youth on UCE Leaders Wedding Day
Isaac Lema, Tanzania Programs Officer
Serving UCE since 2009

As the word of God says in John 12:26 "If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." After working and dedicating my life to serve God through UCE, and to being a role model for others, in 2013 I was blessed to start a marriage journey with Emeline. I introduced the UCE idea to her and she was very interested. She shared her testimony of two men who left her because she stood on the principle of abstinence until marriage. We were really blessed to have each other as friends. We signed our commitment cards to abstain, as fiancées. In March 2014, she participated in a UCE outreach. We stood together and gave our testimony as an example for others. We shared our testimony, and touched the lives of many college students.

On the 8th of August 2014, we were married, and are now living a faithful life as a husband and wife. We are very grateful to the UCE board of directors and the executive director. You have been our guardians through your endless encouragement, support, dedication, and prayers. Through UCE I was able to stand. After I was able to stand, I was then able to help others in need of healthy lives and hope through chastity. I thank you for the award you gave me in my wedding day. It reminds me I have more lives to save every day. I found myself thinking and planning ahead to make sure that UCE is known everywhere in Tanzania. Who am I to deserve all this? I dedicate this award to all the youth in Tanzania. It is my joy to see so many youth choose chastity. It is my wish to see them, after abstaining, developing good, healthy relationships, and having a good happy married life.

Uganda's Message of Hope and Second Chances is for All
Walubo Jude Tadeo, UCE-Uganda National Coordinator addresses the World AIDS Agape Meal and All Night Prayer Vigil

..."I've come to share my experience and the success we have had in Uganda," said Tadeo. He said a key message he shared with his fellow countrymen was one of hope. "We talked about second chances, that if they change their behavior, they could prevent catching the disease and they can live."

Tadeo said the message of chastity has been taken seriously and the results in the reduction of the AIDS/HIV are proof. Tadeo said the message of safe sex is not one he supports. "We know that condoms are not 100 percent effective. In fact, they are only 85 percent effective in reducing the spread of HIV. We know we can't recommend something that puts a person at 15 percent chance of getting it.

"People understand our message of life, our message of hope and understand that the only way to avoid it is to abstain from sex and to remain faithful for those who are married," he said...

UCE featured in EWTN televised documentary, "Africa: Life under Siege"
