Greetings!
Valentine's Day is almost here. At this time of year, we are bombarded by media trying to tell us what "love" means and how to show it. UCE believes that love has already been defined and modeled to us in the person of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is our example. UCE helps youth and married couples learn what true love is...love that honors the other person, both before and after marriage: willing to wait until the time that God has ordained to demonstrate that love and then be faithful and committed to each other. Read what those impacted by the UCE ministry have to say about the effect of UCE on their lives....these are true love stories. Enjoy!

Protecting the Human Heart
Young Tanzanian promotes UCE since 2009

"It begins with me!" says Herman Nguki, a Tanzanian university student who has been organizing UCE outreaches for his classmates since 2009:  "I chose to accept the message of chastity for several reasons. The human body comprises many things, including a heart. If that heart is harmed emotionally, then love disappears in society. I knew that chastity was the only way that I could guarantee a healthy life, respect, harmony, and protection. I also knew that it expresses responsibility, humanity, and consideration in each and every thing that I do each day. I accepted the message of chastity, and this made me a leader among my fellow youth." READ more....

Couple Joins UCE Outreach in Uganda
The Rooneys share wisdom of 44 year marriage

Rooneys in Uganda

Mr and Mrs Pat and Bobbie Rooney joined UCE for two weeks of outreaches in Uganda and had this to share with the young people there, "Marriage takes work. That is, W-O-R-K!"

W worship together
O obey one another (in Greek, obey means to listen to)
R respect one another
K show each other kindness

To see the Rooneys together is to see love in action. UCE thanks the Rooneys for showing their love to Ugandan youth. UCE further thanks them for the great idea of bringing sports to the UCE-Clubs: Healthy bodies, minds and spirits!

What does The UCE Manual say?
Q/A 209: "....Many people speak of making love without realizing that we cannot make love. God himself is love. We can only love in His love and in accord with His design. In chastity, a person strives for mastery of feelings and passions and takes UCE Manual responsibility for actions. Chastity gives great freedom: freedom from slavery to passions, freedom from any sexually transmitted disease, and freedom from painful memories of regret of past relationship."
Please help get The UCE Manual published and distributed to schools

The Fruits of Our Labor
UCE journey: 2004 to today

UCE Couple and Baby

Do you remember watching Dickson's testimony? This Ugandan told the world on his wedding day about the impact of UCE on his own life. Dickson had first heard the UCE message in 2004 and then joined the team. He said, moments after his marriage ceremony, "I want to encourage everybody that, please, if not yet married, abstain. I abstained, its 100% perfect. I did it with my wife and we have enjoyed the fruits of our labor. We thank God so much for that. Second, to the marrieds, as a gift, be faithful always.  And to our partners in the US and all over the world, I want to thank you so much for supporting UCE for giving us funds to enable us to go out and preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and abstinence to everybody. Abstinence OYE ! 100% perfect!" UCE congratulations Dickson and Prim on the arrival of their baby boy. Watch Dickson's video testimony on his wedding day  HERE

Life Changed for Better
UCE Success in Burundi

"I started being a prostitute in 2007 when I was still 18 years old. I left school in the village and came down to hire a room in Mvugo near Lake Tanganyika where I could have enough clients from the fishermen. It happened that I attended a UCE open air meeting two years ago. I laughed at those who signed the commitment cards. But later on, I decided to sign also and joined the church. Now I am married legally and God has blessed us with two children. I thank UCE for the role played in changing my life for the better."

Distinguish True Love
Burundi youth prepared for future

"The message was ours. UCE prepares us as youth for the future and calls us for good education. We are persuaded that those who say that they love us want to indulge us in sexual abuse and immorality.  We need to distinguish between the true love to untrue one."

Georgia Lozinsky 1951-2013

The UCE logo, in vivid African colors, shows "a light from Uganda to the world" when it was reported to USAID in 2003 that HIV prevalence was reduced by behavior change: abstinence until faithful marriage.  Today you'll see Georgia's UCE logo on letterheads, hats, shirts, business cards and calendars around Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania, AFRICA. All of UCE is thankful to Georgia for her creative logo design.
