Dear Friends,
2013 is on the horizon! Like many of you, I am looking forward to a new year full of opportunities. Although 2012 is winding down, many coat drives are, actually, in full swing. As a result, many thousands of coats are on their way to the people who need them most.
It's all thanks to two groups of very important people: the record number of coat drive Organizers who have registered with us this Fall and the record number of new community service agencies who have told us about their needs. With these two groups working together, many more people in need are receiving coats that both warm them physically and let them know that someone in their community cares.
We cannot adequately express our deep gratitude for those of you who have looked into your closets and found a coat to share, and who have hosted a One Warm Coat drive or supported our work financially. Thank you all. You have made this a truly remarkable and rewarding year!

| The Need | 
A Note to Warm Your Heart
For us, there's nothing more gratifying than knowing that our work made a difference in the life of someone who needed help. As we gather with friends and family to enjoy these last few days of 2012, we share this heartwarming note from a teacher whose class received coats from one of our registered agencies. Our hearts are warmed through and through. We know yours will be, too.
"We would like to thank you for the five HUGE bags of coats you generously donated... Yesterday I gave coats to several kindergarten students. One little boy was so excited that he put the coat on, asked me if he could keep it and did not want to take it off even for me to write his name in it. A little girl gave me the biggest hug. I can't even begin to describe the sense of humbleness that came over me, that these kids were so excited over getting a coat - not a toy, but a winter coat! Thank you for helping to keep our kids warm this winter."

 We dream of a time when everyone who needs a warm coat can get one - free of charge. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of Americans have supported this mission by donating their extra warm coats. We also hear from people who want to help, but are unable to organize coat drives in their communities.
