| Greetings! | 
October always brings a flurry of activity, and sometimes brings the first few flurries of snow to parts of the country! It is the time when our thoughts turn to keeping our neighbors safe and warm during the shorter days and on through the longer, colder nights.
Our Organizers, Agencies and Sponsors are right "there" with us this year again. Together, we'll work to make others aware of the real people struggling to clothe their families during Fall and Winter. And together we'll take action to make their winter a little warmer.
This month, we have wonderful news from some ongoing sponsors and new friends whose contributions support the work we all do. I hope you will take a moment to read their news and learn how you and your friends can participate in their unique and exciting activities.

| The Need | 
|
Shaquawana W., who works with Americorps in TN, shared that the families she serves have to put warm coats "on the back burner" when they're in financial distress. She knows knows this pain from personal experience. She tell us, "I know what it is like to stand in line for a coat for my daughter..." She also wrote that "it is already cold... and tonight there is someone sleeping outside in as little as jeans and a shirt." We share her worry for her neighbors.
This year, Shaquawana joins the Americorps team in reaching out to people who have the time or resources to "spread warmth not only spiritually but physically as well" to the children and teens in her community. We are both happy that she found One Warm Coat on the web and proud to share her story with you. |

There's Need Enough to "Go Around!"
We sometimes learn about coat drives organized by individuals who are not part of the One Warm Coat "family." Like us, they have found that the path to meeting the need for warm coats starts with one step: inviting friends and neighbors to donate. When we discover these groups, we invite them to become part of our nationwide effort and share our tools.
Why share our "stuff?" Because there's plenty need to go around! If you discover a coat drive that doesn't seem to be a One Warm Coat drive (maybe your child's school or your church), we invite you to share our free resources, too! Our online Tools & Resources section has sample press releases and flyers that make things very easy. Our Agency Locator lists One Warm Coat-approved agencies that agree to give rather than sell coats and who have experience working with coat drive Organizers. Photo releases help ensure that Organizers have permission for pictures they want to publish. Together, we can help others discover how easy it is to make a significant difference this year. |

Welcome Back and Welcome Aboard  On November 1st, we welcome back Burlington Coat Factory and ABC's Good Morning America for a sixth fabulous year of the Warm Coats & Warm Hearts Coat Drive! Over the past five years, people have generously donated more than 1 million gently worn coats at Burlington locations nationwide. We can hardly wait to see what they have "in store" for us this year!
The Container Stores across the country are back in action, too! With their energy and, well, drive, they hope to collect 10,000 coats - double their success from last year. With that kind of commitment to helping others, we just know they'll reach their goal!
And, now, we say "Welcome aboard" to our new virtual contributors My Coke Rewards and the Pernod Ricard family of brands! Both are raising funds to help us Share the Warmth this winter. Starting now, everyone who registers for My Coke Rewards can go online, assign their points to One Warm Coat and help us reach even more people in need. And Pernod Ricard's popular Kahlua brand has just launched an interactive social media campaign. Anyone 21 or older can help Kahlua Share the Warmth this winter.
