We Need a Moving Coordinator.

It would be extremely helpful to have someone pay attention to the details so the Council and others can focus on the behind the scenes coordination, negotiation, and readying our community to be in a new place.  It takes more than just a few to organize and facilitate a move like this.

You may talk to Rev. Ron Moor or anyone on the Council of Stewards also. Contact the office by clicking here or calling 612-378-3602.

Singing the New Story:
The Lyrics of Transformation
with
Rev. Ron Moor
and Saleem Adam Wolter leading sacred dance

Mystics have long known that the "world" of materiality not only responds to our every thought and spoken word but speaks to us, inspiring us. We will look at this "language" of creation and how we can commune, and co-create, with the living world and bring into being "the more beautiful world our hears know is possible". With sacred chant, luminous images, inspiring quotes and sacred dance.

Mother's Day at Spirit United

with community member
Maria Donofrio
and Rev. Ron Moor
along with musicians
Meg Miura and David Chapman

Maria spoke how the joy of motherhood grows over a lifetime and crosses generations.  Then Ron spoke about how the narrow definition of mother is changing.  We see the Divine feminine in all, men and women. We realize spiritual connections and spiritual deepening comes from the mother.  Listen to  the complete message by clicking here.

The Tao of Meditation Class
with Rev. Ron Moor

EVERY Wednesday, except holidays
10:00am-11:30am
$10-$15 suggested donation

Deepen your meditative practice, or begin one by joining us on Wednesday mornings. Our weekly gathering is to read, meditate and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year-old text of "The Tao TeChing." These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions of people.

Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30-minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today. Part of our discussion will also be about how to deepen our practice of silence and stillness.

Please bring a dish to share if you can

Basic Income asserts the human right to an income that is sufficient for a dignified life without means-testing or work requirement. Basic Income is not a new idea, with MLK in 1967 recognizing its potential "to abolish poverty altogether" and it is currently discussed globally, spanning local, state and national governments, organizations and individuals.

Come for a meal and join BIGMN - Basic Income Guarantee Minnesota for a conversation with veteran Basic Income Proponents Dr. Karl Widerquist and Dr. Ann Withorn. We will discuss the possibilities of a Basic Income movement in the U.S. and globally. How would a Basic Income contribute to the wellness and healing of humanity and the planet?

Spirit United's Plants
in Need of Foster Care

Have you ever thought of being a foster parent?  Maybe, maybe not.  Well here is your chance. Spirit United has plants who need a temporary home.  We are looking for plant orientated, caring, responsible people to bring a plant or two into their own home.  In your  home, your job is to help the plants maintain and even thrive until Spirit United is ready for them to come home to live.

If you are willing, ready and able to care for a plant or two, please contact the office by clicking here or calling 612-378-3602.  They must find foster care by Sunday, May 22.

Council of Stewards' News

Thank you Ginny for leading our Spirit United with your love and
passion.

Ginny Cone has stepped down as chairperson and member of Spirit United's Council of Stewards.  She supported Spirit United during our transformation into a broader view of who we are.  She orchestrated the updating and beautifying of our environment; she lead our expansion of special events and gatherings; she initiated a broader volunteer network and notification process; she cared for many behind the scenes business and legal tasks; she facilitated re-writing of our bylaws (which were about ten years old and had not been revised since originally created) to reflect who we are now; she provided a vision from her heart that focuses on our potential and transformation as a community; and she used her excitement and enthusiastic voice to share with the world Spirit United's beauty, uniqueness and vitality to set the tone of momentum for growth.

Ginny, your gifts to our community are the building blocks from which we are moving forward into our next chapters.  Thank you.
