Greetings!

"We too can begin a new life, one that brings satisfaction and enrichment, whether this is by singing, dancing, running through the waves, walking barefoot on the grass or making love under the stars. Perhaps your dreams are greater than this, or perhaps more conservative, but whatever they are, Beltane is a wonderful time for expressing who you truly are."

Living Our Spirituality
Through Presence, Practice and Play

It is time to step up our moving efforts. May 31 is around the corner.
See below for details.

~~~~~~~~~
We Need a Moving Coordinator.
During the first phase of the move, Janet Bergman graciously took on the role.  She organized the tasks and scheduled times to complete them.  People volunteered to fill the spots necessary to complete the tasks.  She would be a good "go to person" to learn more.
Contact the office by clicking here or calling 612-378-3602 to inquire or express your interest.  You may talk to Rev. Ron Moor or anyone on the Council of Stewards also.
May Day:
The Past in the Future,
the Future in the Past
with
Rev. Ron Moor
and
The Larger Community
hosted by The Heart of the Beast
The annual Heart of the Beast May Day Parade and Festival is the largest non-denominational Celebration of Creation in the country. It brings together traditions from many spiritualities which honor and celebrate our earth and our relationship to all creation. It is really a re-enactment of the ancient mysteries brought to life in our time.
For the first time, our Spirit United community is  participating in the May Day Parade and Festival.  We will walk in the parade and have an information booth at Powderhorn Park festival site.
We will gather at Spirit United at 10:30am-11:00am for a short message.  Ron will share the ancient and modern mysteries which are about to be enacted by the parade and festival traditions.  Those who want to participate in the May Day Parade and Festival at Powderhorn Park can car pool or drive to the parade starting site.
Body Surfing the Cosmos
with Rev. Ron Moor
Ron asked,"When one body surfs, what is the experience like?"  "Going with the flow."  "Sometimes it doesn't treat me very well."  Ron shared, "We are all a part of the New Story.  We are letting go of the old story, of separation, to step into relationship based being.  It's like body surfing."  He reminded us to embrace the new with mindfulness so we support the evolution of human consciousness.  Each of us is needed to help evolve the Universe. Be engaged with the wave.  To listen, click here.
$10-$15 suggested donation
Deepen your meditative practice, or begin one by joining us on Wednesday mornings. Our weekly gathering is to read, meditate and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year-old text of "The Tao TeChing." These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions of people.
Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30-minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today. Part of our discussion will also be about how to deepen our practice of silence and stillness.
Basic Income asserts the human right to an income that is sufficient for a dignified life without means-testing or work requirement. Basic Income is not a new idea, with MLK in 1967 recognizing its potential "to abolish poverty altogether" and it is currently discussed globally, spanning local, state and national governments, organizations and individuals.
Come for a meal and join BIGMN - Basic Income Guarantee Minnesota for a conversation with veteran Basic Income Proponents Dr. Karl Widerquist and Dr. Ann Withorn. We will discuss the possibilities of a Basic Income movement in the U.S. and globally. How would a Basic Income contribute to the wellness and healing of humanity and the planet?
Relocation Update
Spirit United is on the Move...
Sunday, April 24th
Community Meeting Update
Ron presented photos and discussed 9 different possible places for us to move.  One of the places we hoped could be long term, didn't work in our favor. The other has significant challenges.  Seven places discussed are possibilities for temporary sites, each with gifts and challenges to consider.
We left the meeting more informed.
~~~~~~~~~~

We need a moving coordinator for the next phase of the move.
See details above.

The next phase of the move is here.
Everyone can help.
May 31 will be here soon.

Keep Envisioning

We are still looking for a home.
We have ideas for a temporary place for us to be.

So continue to keep your eyes and ears
tuned into any possibility out there.

Visualize Spirit United thriving in the best space working in harmony with the Universe.

~~~~~~~~~
Plan to Join the Next Step in May
The final tear-down, pack and move will be done in May. Make room in your schedule to support the next crew chief who will guide us through our departure from 3204 Como Avenue SE into our new home. We'll need you.
What's Up With
the Library?
Many folks have books, CDs, DVDs checked out. Not to worry, just return them to the library shelf and they will be checked in and ready to join the other books in our new home. The new, streamlined library will have current, topical books of interest ready for you to check out for your studies and reading pleasure. In the meantime, let's find those books you know you have and return them.....please.
Thank you.
