March 16, 2016
Greetings!
We sense that 'normal' isn't coming back, that we are being born into a new normal: a new kind of society, a new relationship to the earth, a new experience of being human.

THIS SUNDAY Easter Sunday
March 27, 2016 10:30am-11:30am Birthing the New Story and Receiving New Members into Our Spirit United Community with Rev. Ron Moor, musician Lynn O'Brien and the Easter Labyrinth by Tom Vetter
In this, our last Easter in our current home, we will explore the New Story that is being born and reborn around and through us. For growing numbers of us, it is not the same old story over again that is emerging this time. We will explore and celebrate this New Story with music and movement as together we walk the exquisite Blossom in the Seed labyrinth and emerge into the light of the new consciousness. We will recognize and receive new members into our community. To make it even more of a celebration, please bring a spring flower to place on the altar and to take home after the gathering, and wear some colorful, spring clothes.

The Seven Grandfathers' Teachings
of the Ojibwe people.

NEXT SUNDAY
April 3, 2016 10:30am-11:30am Anywhere I Hang My Hat Is Home with guest speaker & musician Claudia Schmidt. Claudia will talk about the ability of journeys (especially unplanned ones!) to help you find or recover your spiritual center.

LAST SUNDAY
March 20, 2016
Thanks For That
with
guest speaker, singer, songwriter
Ann Reed
Music fills our life. Music fills our world. People from all walks of life gather for music. Ann spoke through her stories and songs about living within gratitude as one makes their way through heavy and busy moments in life. She reminded us that singing helps us connect to our world in a real way. Ann's music refreshingly embraced our hearts, our heads and our souls. Listen and listen again by clicking here.

EVERY WEDNESDAY The Tao of Meditation Class with Rev. Ron Moor EVERY Wednesday, except holidays 10:00am-11:30am $10-$15 suggested donation Deepen your meditative practice, or begin one by joining us on Wednesday mornings. Our weekly gathering is to read, meditate and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year-old text of "The Tao TeChing." These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions of people.
Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30-minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today. Part of our discussion will also be about how to deepen our practice of silence and stillness.

It's Spring Fever
It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want-oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~ Mark Twain

Spirit United's Relocation Update
|
Spirit United is on the Move!
We will be out of our Como Ave location by May 31st.
The search continues. Please keep your eyes and ears tuned into any new home possibilities that come your way. Two properties were looked at this last week. Keep visualizing our home finding us.
~~~~~~~~~
 TA DA!
THANKS SO MUCH. KUDOS. WOW LOOK WHAT WE DID!
The packing began on January 29th as a small crew started sifting, sorting, donating, and tossing the items that have collected here for over ten years. This was necessary before any packing could begin. The library's books were culled for the first time ever and hundreds of non-circulating or outdated books were released as well as other items that no longer served the community.
Seven Monday afternoons and four Thursday evenings later....it's done. Every nook and cranny has been assessed (offices and KWS excepted). All that could be packed at this time has been done!
 Thanks to these Vital Volunteers.
Every 2 hours of help moved us along. Folks came a couple, a few or several times over the past eight weeks. The Vital volunteers (in alphabetical order) are:
- Dela Almeida
- Janet Bergman
- Mari Bilek
- Ginny Cone
- Maria Donofrio
- Robert Dunn
- Patti Gmeiner
- Karen Greer
- Linda Grummer
- Nanette Hockin
- Joan Johnson
- Carol McCormick
- Ron Moor
- Jane Pollard-Fridlund
- Cyndi Rolek
- Ellen Swanson
- Denise Williams-Rogers
- Caroline Young
Upward and onward to the final pack, tear-down, and move. This will be done in May. Think about joining the next crew chief who will guide us through our departure from 3204 Como Avenue SE to..., our new home. We'll need you.
~~~~~~~~~
What's Up With the Library?
Many folks have books, CDs, DVDs checked out. Not to worry, just return them to the library shelf and they will be checked in and ready to join the other books in our new home. The new, streamlined library will have current, topical books of interest ready for you to check out for your studies and reading pleasure. In the meantime, let's find those books you know you have and return them.....please.
Donations Needed
- Packing Tape
- Bubble Wrap
- Boxes with Covers
- Office boxes that hold reams of paper, sometimes called book boxes, or any sturdy box with a strong cover like a bank box is very welcomed.
Put your donated items under the coat rack by the west door. Thank You.
