Sunday's at Spirit United

THIS SUNDAY
MYSTERY SCHOOL SUNDAY February 28, 2016 10:30am-11:30am
Dancing the Limbo with Rev. Ron Moor and Saleem Adam Wolter will lead sacred dance With the notice to move, our community has entered into a time of limbo. In this state of limbo, the future is altered, less certain and even more unknown. Did you know limbo is the middle stage of initiation.
We will explore what the Cosmos might be asking of us. We will look at some of the different facets of this state of limbo. Then we will do what we can to move deeper into the consciousness of awakened doing. You will experience luminous images, sacred chant, inspirational quotes, and open discussion. We will end with sacred dance led by Saleem Adam Wolter.

Truth. This year's theme: We create beauty in our lives and our world with Love, Wisdom, Respect, Honesty, Bravery, Truth and Humility.
The foundation for the theme comes from

of the Ojibwe people.

NEXT SUNDAY
March 6, 2016
10:30am-11:30am
Animals as Friends and Mentors with Dr. Ed Sellner and musician Laura D'Ambrosio.
This talk will be on our inherent kinship with animals and what our pets in particular can teach us about unconditional love, healing, forgiveness, and joy.
Since this talk is so close to St. Patrick's Day, Ed will also discuss what the stories of the Celtic saints say about what true holiness consists of. As the great Scottish-American naturalist John Muir once said, "Animals might be the agents who once again make us realize that all life is precious."
Dr. Ed Sellner is a professor emeritus in theology at St. Catherine University. Ed Sellner has taught courses and written articles and books on animal theology, and is a Fellow at the Oxford Centre of Animal Ethics in Oxford, England.

LAST SUNDAY
February 21, 2016 Stepping Into Largeness with Rev. Ron Moor and musician Lynn O'Brien
Ron began with a quote from Carl Jung. He said, "Most of us wear shoes that are too small." What does this mean? Ron asked, "Does a voice from deep within you call out? 'These shoes are too tight. Find ones that really fit!'" Ron spoke about the connection between the sole that fits into your shoes and your other soul. He spoke of stepping up and out into more than what we have been.
Listen to Ron and Lynn. Be witness to their souls fitting into their shoes by clicking here.

EVERY WEDNESDAY The Tao of Meditation Class with Rev. Ron Moor EVERY Wednesday, except holidays 10:00am-11:30am $10-$15 suggested donation Deepen your meditative practice, or begin one by joining us on Wednesday mornings. Our weekly gathering is to read, meditate and dialog on the profound wisdom found in the 2500 year-old text of "The Tao TeChing." These 81 short, poetic sayings have offered relief, gentle guidance, and a pathway to inner peace for countless millions of people.
Each week we will begin with a few minutes of breath work to deepen our focus, read one of the sayings, and then bring these ancient words into a 30-minute silent meditation. Following the meditation we will join in an open discussion of the meaning as it relates to our lives today. Part of our discussion will also be about how to deepen our practice of silence and stillness.

Each week will vary according to the current needs of the world and of the group itself. We will do world work and we will do a group meditation for the collective individual needs.
Our guide is Ron Moor. He has been an adventurer of meditation for almost 40 years and has led and taught meditative practices across the country.

SPIRIT UNITED IS ON THE MOVE...
Ways to Engage in the Process
See the block above for specific details of tasks currently being done.
Dear Members and Friends of Spirit United, As we all know the success of Spirit United's move depends on the engagement of the people in our community. We hope you will be one of those who helps make the change.
These are the identified tasks thus far that require people to engage. Look at the list. Determine where you will provide your skills and time. Then, contact Patti Gmeiner by clicking here. (Below is information Patti needs to connect you with the task. Be sure to see the last paragraph.)
1. Cleaning and sorting. People are needed to go through the entire space to get rid of things that have accumulated that are unnecessary for Spirit United to hold onto. These things must be thrown out, given away or sold, depending upon their nature.
2. The library sorting and packing. People are needed to go through the entire library, eliminate duplicate copies and those books which may be ancient and no longer of relevance or of great interest to the community. The remainder need to be packed in boxes labeled.
3. Administrative Office. We need a person(s) to help Joan go through her office, eliminate that which may be disposed of, then, sort, pack and clean when the time comes to do so. (Joan has the last say on this one...that is, how, who, how many and when.)
4. Packing. We need people, when the time is right, to help pack up everything within the entire space and get it ready for transport.
5. Moving. We need people (unless we can find a reasonable commercial mover) to help move all items within the space either to the new home or to storage, depending upon the situation.
6. Unpacking. People will be needed to help unpack and place items in the new space to ready it for use.
7. Initial Weeks of Operation. We will need people to help get everything done in a timely fashion, during the first few weeks, to make sure that operations continue without missing a beat and to help while we are putting all of the persons needed to run the new space into position.
When you decide to volunteer for one or more of these tasks, please send an email to council member, Patti Gmeiner. Click here to share your information: Your name, telephone number, email address and the task(s) you are willing to volunteer. After Patti receives your interest, she will send the names of others you will contact to plan and accomplish the task within the timeline needed.
Please let us hear from you soon to keep things moving forward.
Thank you,
Rev. Ron Moor
and the Council of Stewards
