An Update From The Community Meeting Last Sunday Regarding  Our Move.

About 30 people stayed
for the discussion.

The Council of Stewards reported what they have been doing since they heard the news.  They shared their vision of finding a space that allows Spirit United to be a center from which our space can be shared and rented to multiple groups with the hope of having more than one event happening at the same time.

The meeting group discussed the vision, ideas they have had about property, creative financing, our needs as a community and what needs to be done to be ready for the move.

Stay tuned for more updates and watch for emails stating our needs and a call to action will be made known.

Every friend and member of Spirit United has a vital role to play--financially, physically and spiritually--for us to make this move.

Spirit United Emerging Through Presence, Practice, and Play
with Rev. Ron Moor

How do we align ourselves with the  forces that are calling us to change? What does it take to bring about meaningful, positive growth? How much control do we have over our own destiny? What spiritual practices will support us as we seek to secure our new home? Right now we have more questions than answers, but there are teachings, old and new, that we can help light our way.
With inspirational quotes, luminous images, sacred chant, and updates on our search for a new home. Saleem Adam Wolter will lead us in a sacred dance of Universal peace.

This year's theme:
We create beauty in our lives
and our world with Love, Wisdom, Respect, Honesty, Bravery, Truth and Humility.

The foundation for the theme comes from the Seven Grandfathers' Teachings of the Ojibwe people.

Living Our Spirituality: Presence, Practice, Play
with guest speaker
Bernie Saunders

Being one with nature provides exciting and challenging opportunities to explore our inner self in ways never considered before. Bernie Saunders will share with us one of his out-of-the-ordinary and revealing photographic experiences, and invites us to explore how we discover the power and reward of living our spirituality, by trusting our vulnerability.

After the service Bernie will be having a book gathering where you can hear his story about creating the book, The Grace of Ordinary Days

Bernie Saunders is the founder of The Center for Living Art, acclaimed professional photographer, with 40 years working in the human development field. He has a Masters of Applied Theology degree, and is the author of three books.

FIRE STARTING
with
guest speaker
Dr. DEW Rogers
and musicians
Meg Miura
and David Chapman

Dr. DEW led us
on a "s/hero's" journey through her sacred sculpture altar.  We moved through each stage together to help propel us to our own inner knowing.  The stages are:  birth, the soul's call, crossing the threshold to the unknown, spiritual warfare, the fearless guardian, the knowing-the mother of nations and finally the metamorphosis and ascension.  Dr. DEW not only talked about our personal journey but also the journey of our community Spirit United as we embark on moving our location.  Dr. DEW graciously loaned us her sculpture garden. It is in our meditation room along with the s/hero's journey process.  Visit our meditation room and go deep into yourself.

Meg Miura and David Chapman shared their music with us.  David stepped up to the mic and blessed us with song.  Beautiful.

To be in the world, to relate with the world, to be of service, healthy connections and safe boundaries are essential. Together, we will investigate the energy fields of our body so that we can make allies of our feelings rather than enemies. We will learn how to create and maintain a safe environment. We will enhance our capacity to stand in our truth and speak our word. We will learn about "grounding" and staying conscious so that we can make better decisions, and be more present to those around us. Then we will learn hands-on energy techniques to enhance healing of emotional wounds.
A BOOK GATHERING

The Grace of Ordinary Days  by Bernie Saunders
and his poet mother Kay Saunders  Sunday, January 31, 2016
12:00pm-1:00pm

From Bernie Saunders, you hear his first-hand account of collaborating with his poet mother, Kay Saunders, in writing the book, The Grace of Ordinary Days.  It has been described as "Tuesdays with Morrie meets Georgia O'Keeffe," their story is a rare glimpse into the separate but inseparably linked lives of a mother and son.

The Grace of Ordinary Days story is the perfect preparation for family celebrations. Kay's and Bernie's story may resonate with your own relationships and may prompt you to recount, with a loved one or by yourself, the grace of your own ordinary days.

To see more of Bernie's photography click here to go to his online galleries.  You won't be disappointed.

The Sacred Sculpture Altar Awaits You

Dr. DEW Rogers shares with us her interactive sacred candle altar experience for each of us to use.  You can reflect on where you are in your own "hero's journey" and propel yourself into your own inner knowing.

Dr. DEW thank you for this opportunity to stay centered as our Divine self.  Your tool will facilitate our being aligned with and have the courage to walk our journey.
From left to right:  The Metamorphosis & Ascension, The Knowing-The Mother of Nations, The Fearless Guardian, Spiritual Warfare, Crossing the Threshold to the Unknown, The Soul's Call, and Birth.
NOTE WHEN WALKING THIS JOURNEY, AS YOU LOOK AT THE ALTAR THE EXPERIENTIAL REFLECTION BEGINS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TABLE AT BIRTH.
