Ahh, can it be, another New Year is upon us?
On this
first Sunday of 2016 we will begin our journey through 52 Sunday gatherings with an introduction to our annual theme: Living Our Spirituality Through Presence, Practice, and Play.
We will continue to learn how to be more present with all that we are. We will deepen our spiritual practices. We will play together so we do not take ourselves too seriously and to keep the channels of our creativity flowing. This trinity of being will assist us in becoming more open to the forces of creation as we co-create a more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

Dancing with the Cosmos-An Introduction to Sacred Play with Tom Vetter
Sacred Play is our conscious and playful relationship with the Cosmos. It is both a spiritual perspective and a spiritual practice, where we connect with our innermost essence and allow it to find unique expression in our daily lives and activities. We will be exploring this territory together through poetry, video, discussion, music, and a group labyrinth walk/dance.

   Our very special Christmas Eve celebration was amazing! Kurt Schulz blessed us with the birth story told from the stable hand's perspective. Pamela Karbon shared from an ancient text Jesus' birth story told from the midwife's perspective. Yazmin sang for us Mary's Song deeply touching our hearts. The Light of Christmas magic filled Spirit United gifting each of us with the light of love, peace, hope and joy. To listen, click here.

The Third Genesis

We are in a time of change and challenge. We are in a time when  many of our foundational stories no longer serve us. Many of the institutions based on these old stories no longer serve us and indeed are breaking down. How can we as individuals and how can Spirit United as a community best serve what is emerging? We looked at two foundational stories of our culture, both starting with "In the beginning...." Then we explored a possible new genesis for our time and the qualities of being and relating that are emerging from it.
Ron shared luminous images, inspirational quotes, and sacred chant. In closing Saleem Adam Wolter lead us in sacred dance.

Deepen your spiritual practice. Each session will begin with breath and movement practices to help deepen our meditation. Then we will embark on a series of guided and silent meditations designed to bring greater peace and healing to ourselves and to our world. The focus will always be on peace and healing. Each week will vary according to the current needs of the world and of the group itself. We will do world work and we will do a group meditation for the collective individual needs.
Our guide for month of December is Ron Moor. He has been an adventurer of meditation for almost 40 years and has led and taught meditative practices across the country.

David Lind will speak on how actors and everyday people move energy. He will speak about the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, which was influence by early Theosophist Rudolf Steiner, founder of the Anthroposophical movement.
David Lind studied this technique at the Mason
Gross School for the Arts at Rutgers University and at the Michael Chekhov Acting Studio in New York City. He earned a B.S. in social science and an M.A. in speech and theater. He teaches courses in public speaking and interpersonal communication.

Janet's groundbreaking book explores how a secret cabal of influential families has shaped the United States according to the principles of sacred geometry and Goddess veneration. The

This program on MLK weekend will take a look at many forms of discrimination. The goal is to help us experience how discrimination feels. The first half of the program will include a few interpretive dances by Ellen, with assigned readings by members of the audience and dialogue with all.
The second half of the program all will be invited to dance to songs that hopefully expand our consciousness about discrimination of all types.
