Join us for a very special Christmas Eve celebration.  Local actor Kurt Schulz will present to us a one person play of the season entitled,
Eye Light. He describes the play with "if you have ever found yourself feeling you were a part of something
much bigger than you could comprehend , and you knew it was magical, mystical, and wonderful, then this story may just bring you closer to that line of light."

We will also sing some traditional carols, hear Christmas readings and conclude with a candle lit Silent Night.  It will be a perfect way to begin your Christmas evening.
THIS SUNDAY
MYSTERY SCHOOL
December 27, 2015
10:30am-11:30am

The Third Genesis
with Ron Moor

We are in a time of change and challenge. We are in a time when many of our foundational stories no longer serve us. Many of the institutions based on these old stories no longer serve us and indeed are breaking down. How can we as individuals and how can Spirit United as a community best serve what is emerging?

We will take a look at two foundational stories of our culture, both starting "In the beginning." Then we will explore a possible new genesis for our time and the qualities of being and relating which emerge from it.

Ron will share luminous images, inspirational quotes, and sacred chant. Saleem Adam Wolter will end our time with sacred dance.

NEXT SUNDAY
January 3, 2016
10:30am-11:30
Living Our Spirituality Through Presence, Practice and Play
with Rev. Ron Moor
and the musical artistry of Lynn O'Brien.

Ahh, can it be, another New Year is upon us? In this first Sunday of 2016 we will begin our journey through 52 Sunday gatherings with an introduction to our annual theme: Living Our Spirituality Through Presence, Practice, and Play.

We will continue to learn how to be more present with all that we are. We will deepen our spiritual practices. We will play together so we do not take ourselves too seriously and to keep the channels of our creativity flowing. This trinity of being will assist us in becoming more open to the forces of creation as we co-create a more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

You can't stop the future
You can't rewind the past
The only way to learn the secret
... is to press play.

Good Griselle:
A Tale of Goodness, Hope and Love
with Carol McCormick
and musicians
Meg Miura and David Chapman

Carol told the tale "Good Griselle" by Jane Yolen.

Stone angels stand tall on the cathedral walls; gargoyles squat on its ledges. They don't agree on much--certainly not on Griselle, who lives nearby and is a truly good woman. Griselle shares every bit of her food, she never complains, and she tenderly cares for stray animals. The angels sing her praises, but anyone, grumble the gargoyles, can be good when it comes to the feeding of cats and birds; "We must test this Good Griselle with something far more difficult."

The angels agree to a wager and thus, on Christmas Eve, Griselle hears a pitiful wailing and opens her door to find the ugliest child she's ever seen.  A story worth listening to and having on your bookshelf.

Blossoming Hearts:
Meditations of Peace and Healing Ourselves and Our World

Every Wednesday
7:00pm - 8:30pm
 Suggested donation $10-$15
All are welcome!

Deepen your spiritual practice.  Each session will begin with breath and movement practices to help deepen our meditation. Then we will embark on a series of guided and silent meditations designed to bring greater peace and healing to ourselves and to our world.  The focus will always be on peace and healing. Each week will vary according to the current needs of the world and of the group itself. We will do world work and we will do a group meditation for the collective individual needs.

Our guide for month of December is Ron Moor.  He has been an adventurer of meditation for almost 40 years and has led and taught meditative practices across the country.
