November 25, 2015
Greetings!
Get very clear about the kind of world we would like and then start living that way.
When we hear the other person's feelings and needs, we recognize our common humanity.
As long as I think I 'should' do it, I'll resist it, even if I want very much to do it.
Marshall Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication Quotes

ACTIVATING HOPE
AROUND THE WORLD with guest speaker Gary J Boelhower, PhD and musicians Meg Miura and David Chapman
We activate hope decision by decision every day. Although the daily news proclaims a world divided and in conflict, there is a deeper wisdom that recognizes the common principles that unite the interconnected human family on its daily journey. When we understand these universal principles that are shared across the spiritual traditions of the world, we have reason to hope. When we make wise decisions based on these common principles, we bring hope alive in a world hungry for justice and peace.

LAST SUNDAY
Mystery School Sunday November 22, 2015
The Sacred Seeds of Atitlan with Rev. Ron Moor
Ron reminded us we are a seed community living with spiritual consciousness brightening the world. He shared a story from the Maya of Guatemala--the true story of The Sacred Seeds of Atitlan to remind us of what is truly sacred.
Ron asked questions causing us to question what we are: What is SU about? What role does it play in our lives and in the world? Saleem Adam Wolter closed our time by leading us in a Dance of Universal Peace.
After the service, many stayed to eat and discuss things further at the community forum. I regret to inform you the audio recording process failed again.

Living With and Learning
From Loss
with
guest speaker Liza Sylvestre A technical difficulty occurred in the recording process making the audio not salvageable. Due to the tremendous outpouring of sadness, Ellen contacted Liza to see if she would be willing to gift us her story and the images she brought to us through a different venue. Graciously, Liza offered the following for us to share.
If you scroll down below the video there are three buttons, "follow", "collections, and "download". You should be able to download the video onto your computer to share however you'd like using that "download" button. During the communication with regards to the recording system malfunction, Liza wrote: "I agree with you wholeheartedly, Ellen. I feel like the best "healings" (to use your word) come when we share our experiences and also really take the time to listen to the stories offered. We all have such things to share, and we all have the capacity to learn from these shared things. I'm grateful to be a part of this continuum. I also, want to share one more thing from my own story. It gives a bit more background information on my process as I'm creating.
All of her links are posted on our SU Website.
Warm wishes to all of you!"

Tellabration!
A Storytelling Concert for Adults
Amazing!
Responses were consistent.

The Forum - Who We Are Ron began with an invocation calling each of us to hear one another, reflect on the now and envision Spirit United's future while working with the Divine guides surrounding each of us and our community. Karen Greer reminded us of Spirit United's timeline and vision as we continue to evolve as a community. Then a letter written from Stephani Siddiqui was read by Patti Gmeiner. Stephanie's thought provoking concepts and words launched a discussion filled with passionate, heartfelt honoring of each individual's journey within our community experience. This led us to strategies and ideas to better support and enhance the many journeys we can venture on together at SU. A discussion began with regards to our focus on being the new story, allowing us to more fully launch forward and away from the constructs built from wounds and fear. We spent some time focused on the words we choose to describe who we are, what we believe, how we look and want to look in the future not only to bring clarity for us but also to reach out to those who have yet to find us.
We have embarked upon a journey of birthing into what is yet to come, to fully embrace our potential as individuals and as Spirit United. Please continue to intentionally hold Spirit United in your meditative and prayer space supporting our thriving WHILE attending to Spirit United's physical, earth plane needs. The physical reality of bills, buildings, payroll, operating costs, leadership tasks to implement programming, maintaining the environment, etc. are just as important.
Take the energy of the forum to move us into this next significant timeline moment in the life of Spirit United and of yourself.
Blessings to everyone today, tomorrow, forever and beyond.

The Pledge Drive
During the Who We Are forum, the annual budget was mentioned. Thus the Pledge Drive was referred to as a vital part of supporting Spirit United.
As of November 13, 2015, Spirit United has received 34 pledges for a total of $35,822.
Our goal is $60,000 plus because our precise annual operating budget is $100,000.
You make a difference. Remember all amounts, weekly or monthly, are welcomed because they make a big difference to our financial outlook.
Pick up a pledge form on Sunday morning
or ask for one to be mailed to you. Click here to connect with the office.
Please give generously. Thank you!
