Twelve Ways of Spirit
November's Theme: Practice of Being Present to Spirit

"Whatever happens to seed
affects the web of life."
-Vandana Shiva Photo by Ana Castilho
When our friend William Meader visited us in October, he called Spirit United a "seed" community who is helping to birth the emerging universal spirituality (through the unifying principles of all paths that proclaim love, beauty, gratitude, compassion and unity).
The quote means so very much as barriers continue to emerge attempting to infiltrate, change and stop the emerging new story.

THIS SUNDAY
Mystery School Sunday November 22, 2015 10:30am-11:30am
The Sacred Seeds of Atitlan with Rev. Ron Moor
Does Spirit, The Great Mystery, want something from us? Are we, individually and communally, being "called"? If so, to what? How can our gatherings on Sunday mornings, and other times, help us to stay more tuned to Spirit, help us be more connected to beauty, silence, gratitude, and compassion, and help us be more present with, and contributing to, what is truly meaningful?
Having just returned from Guatemala, Ron will share the true story of The Sacred Seeds of Atitlan. This story from the Maya of Guatemala might just remind us of what is truly sacred. With spirited chant, luminous images, inspirational quotes. Saleem Adam Wolter will close our time by leading us in a Dance of Universal Peace. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pot Luck and Forum This special Mystery School will be followed by a community pot luck and discussion of "Who We Are" as a spiritual community. Please join us for this important event.
Bring a dish to share as we focus on Spirit United's transformation. We will look at "Who We Are" as a spiritual community.
See below for more details.

LAST SUNDAY
November 15, 2015 Living With and Learning From Loss with guest speaker Liza Sylvestre and musician James Schattauer
Regretfully, a technical difficulty occurred with the recording process and the audio was un-salvageable.
During the Annual Fall Festival after Liza's gift to us, wonderful words were said to me. "It was an amazing service. The film she shared touched our hearts. It seemed like there was not a dry eye in the place." Liza thank you for sharing your story.
To learn more about Liza click here to go to her website and here for a City Pages article. And it was so nice to see you James.

Pot Luck and Forum
Transformation is Everywhere Including Spirit United. Once Again We Are Called To Ask
"Who Are We?"
Sunday, November 22, 2015
After Mystery School Sunday
We begin with lunch. Bring a dish and some fixings to share with your Spirit United family. We will break bread together with a pot luck style feast.
Changes have been happening within SU while the realization of our SU being a "seed" community for spiritual transformation for each of us as well as the world has broadened and deepened. Many people have been asking questions and making observations indicating it is time to come together in community, to be fully present to each other as we talk about who we are and where we are going. It seems our Spirit United is also in a phase of transformation just as we see in the world around us. During this time of change, of questioning, of exploring, of challenge, each of us is being called to practice being fully present with Spirit in our Spirit United community. Some questions to ponder:
- Who do we worship?
- What words do we use to express our beliefs?
- How do we want our Sunday mornings to look?
- What shall we call our Sunday gatherings?
- Is there more I can do to build community and support a thriving Spirit United?
The forum will begin with inviting Spirit to join us. A brief history of the creation of Spirit United will be honored to provide a framework. Questions will be posed and discussed. A talking stick will be used to facilitate the listening and speaking.
Come be present to Spirit
as we envision our SU's future as a seed community for awakened consciousness of ourselves and the world.

 FALL FESTIVAL 2015
|
HOLIDAY DECORATING CREW ASSEMBLY NEEDED Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 10am-12:00pm Advent, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas and more is around the corner, so it is time to decorate the sanctuary. Karen Greer is the point person for this task. For more information or questions contact her by clicking here.

A Note from Janet Bergman coordinator extraordinaire!
THANKS, THANKS, AND THANKS FROM THE FALL FESTIVAL PLANNERS
There are so many dedicated folks to thank from the planners, to the point persons, to the operations and publicity management, to the schedulers, to the contributors and donators. Kudos to you.
Thanks to the cheerful volunteers who set up the festival, decorated, made name tags, fixed the blown fuses, sold tickets, served the lunch, assisted with sales, took photographs, ushered folks to their appointments, and cleaned up and reordered our sanctuary and gathering space.
Thanks, too, to the healers, readers, and workshop leader who so graciously volunteered their gifts and services.
AND a big round of applause to the patrons of the festival. You graced us with your presence, dined at the Bistro, shopped the vendors, bought baked goods, bid on silent auction items, and signed up for healings, readings and the workshops.
We are grateful.
Suggestions, ideas and comments are welcomed. Click here to give your input.
