 THIS SUNDAY
September 13, 2015 10:30am-11:30am
"Giving Form to Spirit" with community member Jennelle Donnay and guest musician Linda Breitag
As we search for Spiritual truths in the world we are all shaped by different forms of beliefs that are at first needed to help in one's understanding of the world and our place in it.
Jennelle Donnay is a dancer, choreographer and movement coach who has been helping her students to illumine the human spirit by becoming receptive through communication and connection through dance.
She will be speaking on how dance helped shape her own search for spiritual truth by helping others to give form to spirit in a physical way through dance, and by trust through emotional truth as well.

He has a unique approach to the study of human nature and the social order. He is especially interested in helping people who are having unusual experiences of a psychic, spiritual, or mystical nature to understand what is happening and thus better integrate these experiences into their personality in a healthier way.
After the Sunday service, Dr. Ulness will present a workshop entitled, Spiritual Psychology of Soul Development. See below for details.

LAST SUNDAY
September 6, 2015
The Spiritual Practice of Carrying Water with Rev. Ron Moor and musicians Meg Miura and David Chapman
We do need the basics - food, clothing, shelter, etc. to sustain our life. And the manner in which we do our everyday tasks in conjunction with how we attend to our relationship with everything and every being around us effects us. Together we looked deeper into the meaning of "Chop Wood, Carry Water" to rediscover our connection to the Source of All.
There will be a delay getting the audio posted to the website. I missed church last Sunday and was unable to get the audio until this week. Thanks for your understanding.

A movie night in honor of Sue Arnold as she walks her pilgrimage!
Featuring... The Way with Martin Sheen
Friday, September 11, 2015
7:00pm-10:00pm
$5.00 suggested donation
THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world.
Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez, Sheen's eldest son). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way of St. James" to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him.
Through unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along "The Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."
Emilio Estevez, the writer and director of this film, asked his father Martin Sheen to play the leading role in this project because he wanted to work together, father and son. He reported his amazement at his father's professionalism, tenacity and strength while they not only made this pilgrimage together but also created a visual work of art from which others can journey themselves.

 Playing with the Energy of the I Ching or Book Of Changes
facilitated by Barbara Bobrowitz of Energetic Alignments
Thursday, September 17, 2015 6:30pm-9:15pm At Aslan Institute, The Narnia Room 4141 Old Sibley Memorial Hwy. Eagan, MN 55122 Investment: $27
Make checks payable to Energetic Alignments Send to: 1520 South Timber Ridge NE Fridley, MN 55432 Please Pre-Register: Contact Barbara by clicking here or calling 763-571-9437.
"The I Ching is regarded as a foundation text of Chinese wisdom and philosophy and was instrumental to sages such as Confucius, whose education and teachings were formed by it. "For centuries, the I Ching or Book of Changes has been consulted for sage advise at life's turning points. When its wisdom is sought with sincerity and sensitivity, this Chinese oracle will help...to impart balance and perspective to your life. Its everlasting popularity lies in the lessons that it teaches about how to use your positive qualities in order to attain life's greatest rewards." - Brian Browne Walker, translator of The I Ching or Book of Changes: A Guide to Life's Turning Points. In this experiential playshop, we'll use it as an oracle. To do that, I Ching coins are thrown after formulating a question regarding your current situation to get advice for self-reflection. Like all methods of circumventing the intellect to connect with the heart of your inner knowing (i.e kinesiology, pendulums, tarot) throwing the coins is a tool used for accessing your intuition. This is an aware soul-centered practice since you engage body and brain with activity while you choose universal symbols intuitively-allowing these symbols of universal energy to emerge in a unique combination, called hexagrams, to open you to your deepest wisdom. Once the hexagrams have been formed by the coins, you read the text in the I Ching related to that particular hexagram for your answer. You will learn:
- the origins and uses of this ancient book of Chinese wisdom;
- the connection between the I Ching, the concepts of yin and yang, and the tai chi symbol;
- the symbolic meanings of trigrams and hexagrams;
- a simple process for throwing the coins that I learned from H.H. Professor Lin Yun, Rinpoche, my Chinese Buddhist Llama Feng Shui master;
- how to interpret the hexagrams using the I Ching text for answers to your questions.
Bring: - your sincerity and curiosity.
- six pennies - one newer than the other 5; or five pennies and one dime; or 6 I Ching coins, if you have some.
- a situation or two that you'd like to ask the oracle for advice.
- a copy of the I Ching, if you have one. I will have four or five different translations of the I Ching book on hand for us to use.
Barbara Bobrowitz of Energetic Alignments has employed the I Ching for the past 22+ years as a guide on her own spiritual path and for gentle guidance in working with her Feng Shui clients from the U.S, Canada and South America. It has inevitably provided thoughtful suggestions for how to approach a variety of situations. As a highly trained Feng Shui expert, teacher and consultant, Barbara has assisted hundreds of clients to make beneficial changes in their lives through Feng Shui, and chakra grounding and clearing techniques.
