The Spiritual Practice of Encountering Others

 Who have you met in your life that has changed the course of your life? Did you ever consider that this encounter, and others like it, was not accidental? Did you know that some spiritual traditions teach that each of us has our own angel that calls us to our more authentic self, often though encounters with others? And just what is meant by "getting over ourselves"? We will explore, and remember, such encounters and together have an opportunity to experience a sacred tradition that can help us more fully encounter others. With sacred chant, movement, luminous images and inspirational readings.

Kirtan: Call and Response Chanting

Love donation
Kirtan is a sacred call and response chanting experience that comes to us from India. The repetition of ancient Sanskrit mantras and holy names induces a deep state of concentration and bliss. With its power to hear and open the heart, Kirtan is the primary practice of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion.
Temple of Light is an emerging Kirtan band in the Twin Cities that offers a meditative musical journey through vocals, harmonium, guitar, drum, and traditional Indian percussion instruments.
