 THIS SUNDAY
March 8, 2015

"Where My Soul Lives"
with Rev. Ron Moor
and guest musician
Ray Makeever

Is it possible that how I care for myself, on every level, has an effect on the earth, this planet where we live? Is it possible that the destiny of our species and the destiny of planet earth are intimately connected? Is it possible that this ecosystem of earth, Gaia, is constantly, continually communicating with us? And if so, what might the messages be? Join us as we continue deeper into this month's theme, The Practice of Wearing Skin and we explore this radical idea.

Resilient Grieving - Reasonable Hope with Ted Bowman Sunday, March 29, 2015 12:30pm - 3:00pm $15
Metaphorical shipwreck may occur with the loss of a relationship, violence to one's property, collapse of a career venture, physical illness or injury, defeat of a cause, a fateful choice that irrevocably reorders one's life, betrayal by a community or government, or the discovery that an intellectual construct is inadequate. (Parks)
However named, grieving such losses may be essential for a fuller grief experience AND beginning to dream and hope again. In this interactive session, participants will be presented with distinctions of altered assumptions and expectations. Further, ways of practicing resilient grieving and reasonable hope will be addressed.
Bio: Ted Bowman is a grief and family educator. He is also an adjunct professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Saint Thomas. He is the author of numerous chapters, articles and books, many of which address themes of grief and hope.
Ted will be guest speaker at the Sunday Service on March 29. The title is Following Metaphors: Spiritual and Everyday Meanings.

Community Member Bettie Seitzer Appointed Interim Music Director
Bettie is an accomplished musician, having performed fiddle, guitar and vocals in bands across Minnesota and she is very familiar with the behind the scenes "office work" needed to keep the music flowing. She currently is a member of "Women Who Groove" drumming to African and Caribbean music and she plays the harp performing with an ensemble at MacPhail.
Our fortune is to have Bettie in our community ready to take on the role of interim Music Director through July. At that time, a permanent director will be named.
Bettie wants your thoughts, feelings and ideas about the music on Sundays.
- What do you enjoy about the music at Spirit United?
- Name musicians or types of music you would like to be brought to Spirit United.
- Share anything you want me to know about the music at Spirit United.
Thank you for your participation.
